  • OFD Podcast: May we offer you some Notre Dame Football knowledge?

    10/05/2022 Duración: 02h09min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan order up a sack of Notre Dame football podcasts and all we got was this one. In this episode: HELLO! Notre Dame men's lacrosse got screwed and somehow this fact upset fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes. REVIEWS! Doubling down on Kansas State's folly. The NCAA is finally going to enforce NIL rules - or so they say. The 4 team playoff is here to say and there are national beat writers everywhere that need a hug. Notre Dame football recruiting is kind of hot right now. The 2023 defensive line commitments are an elite haul right now, and could get even better before it's all said and done on signing day. Dante Moore and Martinelli's... Joshua has nothing to retract. Is apple juice overrated? Jarrett Patterson is moving to guard? Really? This again? Transfer portal knowledge. Joshua wants to get creative with the portal and Jude wants to kill innovation. Brendan laughs. Brendan's war against Taco Bell. White Castle locations in the state of Michigan. And plenty more weaved in

  • What date in Notre Dame football history do you obsess over?

    06/05/2022 Duración: 25min

With a college football program as long and as storied as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, there are an incredible number of dates and games that are talked about year after year. Whether it’s a day of great joy like in October 1988 against the Miami Hurricanes, or a few months later when the Irish took down the West Virginia Mountaineers — these are days of great joy that are celebrated all the time by the fanbase and the university. On the flipside there are the days that were gut-wrenching like in November of 1993 against the Boston College Eagles or the theft that was the 1991 Orange Bowl against the Colorado Buffaloes. I have a different date in mind — a date that I absolutely obsess over given the fact of just how different it could have made things for the program today. Please RATE and REVIEW! • OFD Podcast: Welcome to the Notre Dame football offseason

    05/05/2022 Duración: 02h18min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan gather around the podcast bonfire to begin the Notre Dame football ritual of the offseason. In this episode: HELLO! Lawyer letter. REVIEWS! Mount Rushmore of ND beat writers (kind of). Carter Karels deserves special recognition. What game is more important; the Ohio State Buckeyes or the Clemson Tigers? Recapping the NFL Draft. Kevin Austin and Jack Coan. We mention Kyle Hamilton only because of his new uniform colors (which feels very on brand). Notre Dame's 2023 recruiting class is very good. You need to have the chest - NAY THE STOMACH - to recruit a talent like 5-Star quarterback Dante Moore. How should we view recruiting in the NIL era? The friendship of Notre Dame and the BYU Cougars... pure western fanfiction. #ParentRegretMovie or #RegretParentMovie (which ever one). The JFK assassination. And plenty more weaved in and out of the show. Please RATE and REVIEW! All reviews will be read on the next OFD Podcast. Go Irish! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit me

  • OFD Podcast: The Belly of the Beast

    27/04/2022 Duración: 02h12min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan crank up the pod machine after Notre Dame's Blue-Gold spring football game. In this episode: HELLO! Spring game shock. Only one person had the balls to hang out the gut. REVIEWS! Michigan tears. Taunting the youth of Ayresville. Diving into the BG game. Drew Pyne's rough day and what to make of it. Steve Angelli's canonization. Guys that flashed - but the good flash. Guys that flashed - but in the go to jail way. Joshua's problem with Houston Griffith. Brendan and Joshua finally had to concede to Jude's game prediction. Take the Angelli play away... how bad was this spring game? The philosophy of "what we learned" is sound. Reaction to THE SHIRT and those type of things. Who should Notre Dame play at night? How far has Stanford fallen? Plotting a conversation with Marcus Freeman. WELCOME Sam Pendleton! Crootin'. The NFL Draft preview. Another NIL discussion. Beau Morgan BAYBEEE!!! And plenty more weaved in and out of the show. Please RATE and REVIEW! Al

  • OFD Podcast: All of the purple pants for a meaty week at Notre Dame

    22/04/2022 Duración: 02h39min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan are back from their Holy Week sabbatical only to come across a very, very meaty Notre Dame football news bone. In this episode: Hello! REVIEWS! Auxiliary changes to the Notre Dame football program. Tyler Buchner is out for the spring game which kind of sucks. The Blue-Gold Game Draft. What to expect from the spring game. Blue VS Gold... who do you have? Miles Boykin joins the Pittsburgh Steelers. The hugeness of the Braylon James commitment. The pressure of the Dante Moore recruitment. Braylon James trolling the LSU Tigers and yes - Brian Kelly. The F.U.N.D. NIL collective with Brady Quinn, Tom Mendoza and others. NBC starts their NIL marketplace and we try to connect the dots between ND, the Vanderbilt Commodores, and Temple Owls. This is all very Notre Damey - just the way it has to be and the way it should be. Brendan can't take Josh's dismissive nature of the spring game anymore and brings it back for another round of discussion. Good vibes. Drew Pyne is about to

  • A gentlemen's review of Notre Dame's 12th spring football practice

    13/04/2022 Duración: 25min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan are busy celebrating Holy Week - but do not fear my friend - the OFD Podcast still has you covered. Humphrey Cavendish (hereditary heir to the Earldom of Warwick) will unveil all of the juicy details of Notre Dame's 12 practice of the Spring Football season. In this episode: There are injuries. A man named Rocco. Something special is supposed to be special. What does Rees know and what DOESN't he know? Humphrey was joined by OFD's Notre Dame Recruiting Insider, Jack Valor. During the short time Jack was willing to give, he spoke about: Gi'Bran Payne and the great state of Ohio. Dante Moore. Douchey Michigan writer. Please RATE and REVIEW (but 99.9% rate and review based on the OFD Pod and not exactly these colorful characters). All reviews left on Apple Podcasts will be read on the next OFD Podcast. Go Irish! • OFD Podcast: Blaming Navy for Notre Dame's schedule

    08/04/2022 Duración: 01h59min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan are back in the podcast machine for another round of Notre Dame football schedule madness. In this episode: HELLO! The most controversial tweet of the week. Diving into the announcment that Notre Dame will host Tennessee State in 2023. Notre Dame botched the announcement by allowing 24 hours to pass until a really good press conference. A lot of the Twitter takes were bad because certain assumptions were made. Basically... your real issues with Notre Dame's schedule are because of Navy whether you realize or not. Putting things into actual perspective (we hope). 2023's schedule is more interesting than you actually know - it's full of villains and henchmen and fun times. Ending the year in California is stupid. Please stop. Iowa Preflight is always on our minds. October weather in South Bend, Brian Kelly keeps showing his ass. We breakout the SEC schedules. A new defensive tackle from the Ivy. A little spring ball, but not really. Dunking all over Braylon Edwards and

  • OFD Podcast: Tennessee garage talk about Notre Dame Football

Grappling with trivia night in Nashville. Laura Fisher, the girlfriend of former Notre Dame linebacker and current Vanderbilt Commodore coach Greer Martini, was involved in a terrible accident and could use our help. If you are able to help out the Go Fund Me page can be found HERE. REVIEWS! The Ohio State Buckeyes at night for people from Knoxville. How much would you take to sellout for Michigan or Michigan State? Some spring football love for hitting the hole hard. The WR situation. Hating on April Fool's Day. The T Formation should be in play. What about the transfer portal? Sexy fullback chat for the true believers. Measuring thing with the Grupe unit. 5-Star quarterback Dante Moore and his photoshoot. Recruiting coverage and how things are reported. The Blake Wesley situation. Notre Dame schedule talk and

  • What is the most interesting decade in Notre Dame Football history?

    30/03/2022 Duración: 17min

We are going OFF THE RAILS here as we continue to prep for another OFD Podcast during the spring football season for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. I made some very strong comments about Brian Kelly's tenure at Notre Dame a few weeks ago. A lot of that stems from a topic I've had on my mind for a while... what is the most interesting decade in Notre Dame Football history? The most interesting doesn't have to be the best or the worst even though they can definitely can be for any individual out there. What's the decade that draws you in with good vibes, or insanity, or rage, or whatever? Take a quick listen to the podcast episode in the player below, and give me your thoughts. Do you agree? Do you have a different decade? What's your reasoning? I promise... I'm not trying to screw you like a hot dog machine. Please RATE and Review! • OFD Podcast: A clearer picture of college sports and NIL with Matt Brown

    25/03/2022 Duración: 42min

There is an extraordinary amount of NIL related stuff that I and plenty of Notre Dame fans still don't fully comprehend. It's okay! The world of NIL is an extremely messy and complicated thing, and it can make even those with a deep understanding of collegiate athletics scratch their heads. It's why I asked Matt Brown to come on the show and talk to us about all of this. Matt is the publisher of the Extra Points Newsletter, host of the Going for Two Podcast, fellow Homefield Apparel lover, Ohio State alum, and definitely maybe the guy behind the Notre Dame went 4-8 memes. He's also completely devoted to the behind the scenes action of athletic departments around the country, and offers us a clearer look into what is happening all over the country - which certainly impacts Notre Dame. Take a listen as Matt explains what NIL is supposed to be, how it is actually working right now, the future of NIL, and maybe some things that might put the minds of Notre Dame fans at ease - at least a little bit. Follow Matt on

  • OFD Podcast: Tournament of Brian Kelly's BIG HAND Notre Dame wins

    25/03/2022 Duración: 02h35min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan are back to pod about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program and other important things in life -- and somehow were able to sneak in a few things about Pitt. What a world. In this episode: HELLO! Notre Dame hockey got two wins in one night as they advance in the NCAA Tournament over North Dakota. The sad free-throw shooting of the men's basketball team. Notre Dame's women's basketball team is out there curb-stomping Sooners. THERE IS A NOTRE DAME FENCING REFERENCE! In an escape room. Notre Dame football's pro-day is on the way. The small hands of Kenny Pickett and other combine/pro-day things. Offensive line vision board. Brian Kelly ripping off Brian Kelly and Josh has had enough. It could have been Randy Edsall for the love of god. So... you really WANT to play the Ohio State Buckeyes at night in Columbus? The Sweet 16 of Brian Kelly's big wins at Notre Dame. Mental performance. Jude points out some NIL disagreements - which isn't what was discussed preshow.

  • OFD Podcast: Notre Dame Football's NIL World

    19/03/2022 Duración: 02h18min

Joshua and Brendan jump into the podcast spaceship on a Friday night to talk about a long list of things with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In this episode: HELLO! We jump right onto the court with Notre Dame Basketball's NCAA Tournament run. IT'S MARCH MADNESS and we give the world's greatest sporting event the love it requires. REVIEWS! Michigan sucks. We repeat... MICHIGAN SUCKS. Spring football is now on the table. Joshua tries to successfully explain his lowkey feels about spring football. We go over the Marcus Freeman press conference, and try to make sense of it all. Brendan and Josh have been stewing about Notre Dame's NIL situation and share quite a few thoughts about what is happening and what needs to happen. We fully reserve the right to be absolutely dead wrong about a few things... but we don't like what we are currently seeing. The Jerome Bettis situation - which is to say that we debate about how much impact his presence actually has (and other stuff). Yost was a terrible human bei

  • The other side of Notre Dame Football's 3rd year prophecy

    11/03/2022 Duración: 31min

Welcome to another episode of the Off The Rails show on the OFD Podcast. We are all gearing up for the first season of Notre Dame Fighting Irish football under Marcus Freeman - which means comparisons will be made. We are all aware of the 3rd year prophecy for Notre Dame football coaches - if they are going to win a national championship, the third year is when it's going to get done. While that's all well and good (and maybe an outdated thing) what about the other side of that prophecy? What does a non-title year mean for the head coach and for Notre Dame? I take a quick look back at the last 100 years to see what a non-title year might mean. Please RATE and REVIEW! All reviews left on Apple Podcasts will be read on the next OFD Podcast. Go Irish! • OFD Podcast: What does the NFL Combine mean for Notre Dame VS Ohio State?

    08/03/2022 Duración: 02h42min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan (a bit later) step up to the starting line for 5 seconds (AKA 2.5 hours) of Notre Dame Fighting Irish podcasting magic. In this episode: Just some questions we have about Harry Hiestand reclaiming his spot as the offensive line coach. Jarrett Patterson's injury. Notre Dame Hockey advances. Notre Dame's #2 seed in the ACC Tournament. The women's basketball team running into a hurricane. REVIEWS! This new football staff and their recruiting chops. Concerns with the new football staff? Hello NFL Combine! Jack Coan is going to get drafted. Repeat that over and over. Kevin Austin's big day and what it may mean in the NFL Draft. Kyren Williams did not have a good showing at the combine and now let the debate begin. Kyren's 40 time matters quite a bit but Kyle Hamilton's does not. Getting better with a name. What we're looking for this spring and what we hope Notre Dame figures out. Top 5 fish sandwiches for Lent (Jude is a heathen). A massive discussion about NFT's that ac

  • The great listing of Notre Dame names for 2022 spring football

    05/03/2022 Duración: 35min

On this Off The Rails episode on the OFD Podcast, I continue the tradition. Before spring football in 2020 (or what we had of it) I did a “big-little” preview for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. What it actually ended up being was a listing of names. To be honest — it sounds sillier than it actually is, and some people quite enjoyed its simplicity. One of those people was Brendan, and as a promise to him — here’s another episode. Please RATE and REVIEW! All reviews left on Apple Podcasts will be read on the next OFD Podcast. Go Irish! • OFD Podcast: Notre Dame Football vibe check

    25/02/2022 Duración: 02h15min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan jump back on the pod machine to NOT talk about the upcoming spring football season for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish OR even the fully full on staff that Marcus Freeman has assembled. In this episode: HELLO! Notre Dame fans are forever COPS. Partial credit Greg. REVIEW! A truly epic battle for the soul of the Super Bowl halftime show (part 2). The immortal Coach and Hicksville's Dober. The Great Hole In The Boxers debate... we are dumbfounded. Breaking out a controversial tier graphic. The Michigan rivalry. Miami VS Pitt. Hating teams and vibe checking teams. Daggers to the heart. The real Michigan. A more honest ACC. The USFL is strange. A quick mix of women's lacrosse, basketball, and hockey. The term for a women's version of "lacrosse bro". Detroit Tigers nostalgia. Jude's Canad

  • OFD Podcast: Notre Dame's golden glow at the Waffle House

    16/02/2022 Duración: 02h13min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan are back together to talk about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish with a much improved sound mix. In this episode: HELLO! You're still here. Notre Dame is going to hire Al Golden. IHOP vs Denny's isn't even a thing if there is a Waffle House around. Joshua is unapologetic in his battle against the age appropriation of Dre and Snoop. Sidetracking to the Super Bowl and Fort Wayne's big night. Lacrosse Bro Linebacker Preston Zinter. LFG! A little recruiting chatter... basically the big spring setup. COACH Lezynski with the promotion to Vanderbilt. New Irish staff love (positive thinking with the turnover). The Wilford Brimley Line. Chris Watt is BACK! Starting to feel it for spring football. We finalize the 2021 football season by going over our prop bets from August. There's a lot to cover here... and a lot of red. And plenty more weaved in and out of the show. Please RATE and REVIEW! • OFD Podcast: Prelude to a Notre Dame villain

    10/02/2022 Duración: 01h52min

Joshua and Brendan break open the seal of prophecy to pod about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the ever moving world of college football. There were a few technical difficulties and sound issues along the way... and we'll just blame that on the evil of the world. In this episode: HELLO! Viking age. REVIEWS! Shoveling or mowing in extreme conditions? Are you and 10 of your friends dumb enough to take on a gorilla? Lincoln Riley and the mark of the beast rise from the house of Southern Cal. Pat Narduzzi and the ACC coaching cabal are drunk with the power. George Takacs hits the transfer portal. Scholarship numbers are right on point, but might sway back and forth for a while. The saga of Deland McCullough and his sons. Notre Dame Basketball... #1 in the ACC BAYBEEE! Jesse Schmitt joins a large support staff. A really quick look at the States of Recruiting and the shift over the past decade. And plenty more weaved in and out of the episode. Please RATE and REVIEW! All reviews left on Apple Podca
