This week, PC Tunney & Dave take a look at the Conference Finals in both the NHL and NBA. In the NHL, the Carolina Hurricanes have failed, miserably to live up to their nickname as they are being drubbed by the defending champion Florida Panthers. Meanwhile, the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars are waging a tighter battle, but many signs are pointing to a Stanley Cup Finals rematch this season. In the NBA, one series is all about home-court advantage, and the other? Not so much as the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks give new meaning to the term road warriors. The guys also talk about the NFL allowing its players to compete in flag football at the 2028 Olympics (good luck to the rest of the world) and the CFP making a big shift in its format by going to straight seeding for next year's playoffs. This week, Patrick & Dave are joined by PC Tunney to continue to cover the ongoing drama that is the NBA and NHL Playoffs. In the NBA Playoffs, the New York Knicks closed the book on a surprising shellacking of the defending champion Boston Celtics. The Big Five Project returns to cover one of the worst PPVs of all time, King of the Ring 1995. Seriously, this is an event that kind of makes WrestleMania IX look good by comparison. Vince McMahon had all the elements in place to make this an event to remember. Well, it was an event to remember for all the wrong reasons. The bracket for the King of the Ring tournament was pretty solid. But bad matches and even worse booking decisions led us to the crowning of....King Mabel? Oh, and if that was not bad enough, Vince threw Bret "Hitman" Hart, the best wrestler in the company, into a meaningless Kiss My Foot match with Jerry "The King" Lawler. The fact that match was one of the better matches on the card tells you so much of what you need to know, and we have not event talked about the Main Event pitting the WWF Champion Diesel, and his tag team partner, Bam Bam Bigelow, against Sycho Sid and Tatanka in a match that redefined the word meaningless. The Bandwagon is stripped down this week as Dave and PC Tunney helm the ship for a big week in the Nerdosphere.
