Chatting With Sherri welcomes award winning author; Katie Livingston! Katie Livingston of New Cordell winner of the world wide writing contest; Writers of The Future!   Katie is a student at Wesleyan University where she is earning a BA in English and lives in Middletown, Connecticut during the school year. She spent her high school years tending chickens and writing speculative fiction novels, since there wasn’t much else to do smack in the middle of rural Oklahoma. She is a fan of Stephen King novels, ’80s horror flicks, rural living, and cats—all of which inspire her work. Katie hopes to attend graduate school for American literature so that she can continue learning, reading, and writing for many years to come.   Katie's winning story is published in L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 36 which wasofficially released on April 7th!

His love of the craft and his desire to master the art started young when he won a community creative writing contest at the age of 8 with a short story about how mankind would settle future disputes over a chessboard. 40 years later, he realized that after spending some time as an auto mechanic, police officer and even most recently a chimpanzee keeper it was time to return to the one thing that he simply cannot escape his love of and the need to write. Leah lives in northern Virginia with her husband and their five animals: two cats, a dog, and two sugar gliders, all of whom are exactly as cute as they sound. Renowned Egyptologist Dr. Colleen Darnell's areas of expertise include Late Period uses of the Underworld Books, ancient Egyptian military history, the literature of New Kingdom Egypt, and Egyptian revival history. A reformed lawyer, Sulari Gentill is the award-winning author of the Rowland Sinclair Mysteries, the Hero Trilogy, and a number of standalone novels.  She lives on a small farm in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, where she grows French Black Truffles and writes about murder and mayhem. Sulari has won and been shortlisted in many awards including: the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, the Australian Book Industry Award, the Davitt Award, the Ned Kelly Award, and the Scarlett Stiletto Award.  She was the inaugural Eminent Writer in Residence at the Australian Museum of Democracy.  Most recently she won the 2018 Ned Kelly Award for Best Crime Novel and was awarded a 2019 Create Grant by the Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund.

Including elements of Steampunk, political intrigue, action adventure and dark fantasy, it follows the adventures of Captain Jac and the crew of The Indiana. In this first book, the crew learns that there are some jobs you really shouldn't take, no matter how good the payout.    Jessica Brawner sprouted in the wilds of South Texas and plotted ways to spend her life traveling the world. She has been remarkably successful at that endeavor, and is now based in the Los Angeles area. In 2001 she discovered the wonders of Science Fiction and Fantasy conventions and has spent the years since working as a booth babe, volunteering for bands and vendors at conventions all over the country.
