Tomorrow Comes The Harvest are Detroit techno pioneer Jeff Mills, Indian tabla player Prabhu Edouard and Guyanese keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary. Together they create a transcendental mix of live improvisation, wild rhythm, electronic and acoustic wonder. As part of our ongoing series of Line Noise episodes to celebrate Nitsa’s 30th anniversary, I spoke to Marea Stamper aka The Blessed Madonna, an American, DJ and producer who holds Nitsa close to her heart. His new record Art-O-Fact (Detroit Remix) arrives on Carl Craig’s Planet E label on October 11 and we talked about that; about Detroit and Miami; about Da Mongoloids’ album plans; his love of The Prodigy and even Tatu. The last time Sofia Kourtesis visited Line Noise she announced that she was planning her debut album. When she returned, at Primavera Sound 2024, that incredible debut album, Madres, had eaten the world, becoming one of the most loved and critically acclaimed dance music albums of the past few years. My guest on Line Noise this week is a young artist who is on the verge of very big things indeed, with a new album, True Magic, coming out this Friday, (July 12): Vienna via Manchester house don Salute. We spoke about clubbing on YouTube, Todd Edwards and how Manchester has changed them. I have to apologise for the audio quality of this interview. Rob, one of our master technicians, did all he could to make it better and he has done A LOT. But it is still far from the sparkling sound quality you deserve. I’m sorry about that. William Basinski is the most rock and roll artist in the history of avant garde music. We caught up with him and composer Maxim Moston at Primavera Sound 2024, where Basinski was performing his classic album Disintegration Tapes live, for which Moston wrote the orchestral transcription.
