  • Hard Times

    31/03/2013

Thanks to Rock and Jim Reed for the inspiration to learn this tune. Both of their pre war banjos are to die for...especially in D tuning. Their playing abilities are to die for as well. Jim's recording on his cd sounds just like Sammy Shelor with his RB12.

  • Carolina Grass "Cuttin It Close" CD Sampler

    29/03/2013

Snippets of our first CD. First Song is my instrumental Flood Gates, followed by a Jimmy Martin Classic "Mary Ann", Then the Osborne Bros "Lonesome Feeling" "Remington Ride" "Glendale Train" "West Virginia" "You Wont Ever Forget Me" and finally "Black Mountain Rag" Let me know what you think and if you would be interested in getting a copy we'll have them back in about 2 weeks. Its been an absolute pleasure to play with this group of guys. Its always fun to play with a group that makes you want to be a better picker. Ive had to change my style more in the past year to fulfill the sound and i think its been for the better. Hope you enjoy. A big thanks is in order to Mike Rose at AudioFarm studio in Goldsboro, NC. It dont look like much from the outside but Mike is a veteran at bluegrass and recording bluegrass. He knows what its supposed to sound like and it shows in the finished product!
