We spoke about the writing of the album as well as working with guest musicians Bobby Blitz, Speesy from Kreator, and Rægina from Dæmonesq. JNQP 64 100321 Fueled by Fire Carlos Gutirrez interview We learned about Carlos’s first drumset and some schooling he got in school. He formed Fueled by Fire with Sal Zepeda. I inquired about what the LA Metal scene was like around the Metalblade release of 2006’s Spread the Fire. We talked a bit about Japan when Fueled by Fire played the True Thrash Fest and exploring Osaka and Nara. He spoke about recording Trapped in Perdition with Erik Rutan. He told me about his band’s South American tour to Brazil. We learned about an amazing collection of press material from the Spread the Fire release in his collection. He also talked about an urban legend with the Cecil Hotel.

JNQP 63 JNQP 63 092121 Pale Magus Productions Brian Rush Luctum Ænigmatum Interview I spoke with Brian Rush of Pale Magus Productions about his first keyboard and early lessons he took when he was younger. We discussed the philosophy of using a metronome and his understanding of time. He spoke about his various bands he was in but we centered his music output on Luctum’s Ashes of the Titan and well as a few other songs he recorded. He has a few really interesting rarities in his collection and I was excited to hear about a few treasures he has. We finished things up speaking about the Portland urban legend Polybius.

JNQP 62 090621 Witchaven BBB Jerry Garcia Interview We learned about Jerry’s first bass. We spoke a lot about Witchaven’s come back concert in August 26th at Long Beach.. Some after thoughts on it along with the setlist. There was dialog asking about Afghanistan and the corona virus and if they will be used for topics on future songs. We finished things up with an old urban legend about LA.

We spoke about Allison getting her first instrument. There was dialogue about what went on between Veils of Winter and Silence/Motion. Can you tell me about getting your first instrument? We spoke about using Dylan White to record the album. It was recorded Summer 2020. Allison spoke about bringing in Erika Osterhout in as a live guitarist. We spoke about a few songs from Pyscho Las Vegas. We looked back on recording the Motorhead/Girlschool song Please Don’t Touch with Matt Pike. Allison spoke about her most cherished musical possessoon as well as a one of a kind Blackwater Holylight soevenire related to the song Babies and finished things up discussing a Portland urban legend.

They spoke about the story behind the I Can’t Take It video about the lockdowns from Governor Gavin Newsom with the parallels to Benny Hill and Spy vs Spy. We talked about how the setlist was formed. We spoke about urban legends and ghost stories and Erik spoke about a wild hotel he stayed at with his band.

Cancion Franklin is a rock and country musician originally from Arizona who has relocated to New York City. He spoke about going back home to Arizona when the Pandemic was taking off. He ended up breaking his arm while he was back in Arizona and spoke about how songwriting was for him while his arm was healing. We spoke about how his songwriting evolved from Stone to Stone to “Just Made Rent.” Cancion spoke about how getting his music played on the Roots Music Report and with the Americana Music Association improved things for himself. He elaborated on getting News 4 New York to do a news story on him. He spoke about his feelings on being a producer and what he was trying to do working on Leah Test’s All You Ramblers.

We talked about what kind of new trends going on in music that they are excited about and how shows are going to start happening again. Portland Oregon Guitarist Gabe Franco discusses how his band Idle Hands changed their name to Unto Others and the trials and tribulations the band has dealt with from the name change, signing to Roadrunner Records, and writing new songs. We discussed a bit about the new album Strength and gave advise for the average working class bands out there.
