Alla Reminiscenza - 1. Forgotten Melodies no. 1 - Sonata reminiscenza - Medtner
19/08/2020 Duración: 13minDuring a sabbatical visit to rural Bugry in 1919, Medtner rediscovered some of his melodic sketches written much earlier in his life. He then composed three cycles of Forgotten Melodies: sets of character pieces unified by common musical themes derived from these melodies, elaborated with his mature compositional technique and inspiration drawn from the rural surroundings.

Les Heures Dolentes - Epigraphe - Dupont
19/08/2020 Duración: 01minDupont contracted tuberculosis during his military service in 1901, which lasted until his death 13 years later. Les Heures Dolentes (The Sorrowful Hours, 1903-1905), featuring a set of fourteen movements connected via reminiscence motifs, evokes his suffering during his solitary confinement and self-exile, juxtaposed with occasional bittersweet brief visits by his doctor, his acquaintances, and his mother.
