The classic for July comes from a remix by Orjan Nilsen. This track was the highlight of my 2009 summer. I dropped in every single gig that year, a bomb every time. Hello and welcome! We are back with our musical journey after a long and much anticipating 17 months. I’m so excited to be back sharing some of my personal favorite tracks in this 2-hour mix format. I started this back in 2017 (2005) in the attempt to keep music alive in my life, and by doing so sharing with you. To be back is a great privilege and honor, and to have you with me on this journey is surreal. To get back on track I decided to bring you the most exciting yearly episode, the Classics Edition. Since we were absent in 2020, I decided to combine the two last editions into one, with 6 hours of pure joy of oldies. And this year I wanted to do something a bit different. I’ve always been a fan of the New York House Music scene from the late 90s early 2000s since I was a teenager. So in this edition, I will play some of the most beautiful House Anthems that defined the House scene in New York City in the late 90s, early 2000s. I remember when I fell in love with Trance. It was in the early turning of the millennium in February of 2001 in the middle of the brutal New England cold when I got picked up from work by a friend. He was listening to some amazing music, it was fresh, atmospheric, chill, beautiful with warm vocals. I couldn’t resist asking who that was. He handed me the double CD, ATB Two Worlds. That was the moment my heart opened to feel something through music I never felt before. It spoke a new language I never heard before. I knew electronic dance music through the lens of Eurodance, but this was something else, it was different, it was magic, it was running waters to my soul and warmth to my spirit. I knew at that moment that the dream I captured of being DJ years prior, and eventually try to make some music like that was confirmed. The music scene, in particular, the Trance scene, lost one of Italy legendary DJ & Producer Fabio XB. This past month he lost his long battle with leukemia. One of my favorite tracks by him is 'Inside Of You', the Cosmic Gate remix. Okay, we are back! Wow, we are heading to the final days of another decade. As I reflect on the last ten years and see the progression of electronic dance music, I'm amazed by the quality of this beautiful sound. I created so many great memories in the last 10 years. I'm definitely looking forward to many decades to come with the opportunity to create even more amazing moments.
