Building on our established styles from previous editions, we present a vibrant range of melodic, modular, symphonic, and sequential sounds created by artists who have featured on our airwaves over many years. Just a mention of Enigmatic Obsession, the creative project of Jens Gad, one of the two founders of the legendary formation Enigma. While Michael Cretu is the more widely recognised figure, Jens Gad played a crucial role in shaping Enigma's distinctive sound. We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mark Dwane on 24th July, following the recent discovery of his cancer diagnosis and limited prognosis. Our first edition for January features another diverse collection, including Kraut rock by the four-piece band Electric Orange and the re-release of Bloop’s 1999 album ‘Schallaufnahmen,’ performed by two members of that band, Dirk Jan Muller and Dirk Bittner. UK musician David Hughes, performing as ION, delivers a soundtrack to a no-budget student horror film titled ‘Perdition’s Flames,’ blending guitars and atmospheric synths. Our edited track from 1979 by Earthstar is taken from the album ‘French Skylines,’ produced by Klaus Schulze. As usual, we always like to give the female side exposure, with Brooklyn-based composer and producer Rachika Nayar, who has transitioned from the ghostly netherworlds of her debut to a vivid fluorescent cinematic maximalism, and Nadia Struiwigh, who echoes a free-spirited approach of electronic music in the mid-eighties, giving emotionally-charged ambience.
