Listening Well To The King

The message to the lowly shepherds... The messiah is here and you can be friends!  It is amazing that God would want a relationship with me.  Thanks Lord!  Pastor Rick taught Part Two of the 2022 Christmas CrossPoint Series.

Christmas makes us wonder... why does God love us so!  Don't have the answers, but sure glad He does.  Pastor Rick shares the first message of Advent at CrossPoint 2022.

We have walked with David through his highs and his lows.  We find David's last words, words given to Solomon in 1 Chronicles 28 and 29. The king speaks from his heart.  Pastor Rick shares David's words at CrossPoint Church.

Pastor Rick tells a sad story found in 2 Samuel 24 and 1 Chronicles 21 where David sins and suffers greatly.  David reminds us that leaders need to walk with God closely because when they wander the consequences are horrific. This is a warning to all of us, but especially those in leadership.

King David, a man after God's heart, fell badly leaving carnage everywhere.  Learn how David stepped away from God and how David returned to God with his whole heart. Pastor Rick talked from 2 Samuel 11, 12 and Psalm 51 and 32 at CrossPoint Church.

King David had great motives, but only partially obedient which ended up in a disaster.  David responded quickly which resulted in great joy for all of Israel.  Pastor Rick preached this message at CrossPoint Church.

If we asked David: How do you do it, how do you live abundant life in the midst of world's chaos?  I believe King David would reply, "The Lord is my Shepherd." David has a chance to take out Saul... but chooses to trust God's timing and plan.  Blake Peterson preaches from 1 Samuel 18-24 and shows us the importance of forgiving others.

David walked with God which gave him the ability to respond well to challenges in his life... including a giant.  A person who has God's heart responds beautifully to circumstances and people.  Pastor Rick preached from 1 Samuel 17 to CrossPoint Church.

God teaches Samuel that he doesn't choose leaders the way the culture chooses. God looks at the heart and chooses a young shepherd boy who had a heart like God's. Pastor Rick Wager teaches from 1 Samuel 16 and focuses on what a man after God's own heart looks like.

Saul is the peoples choice... but not God's choice. Saul's disobedience takes his crown.  We all have some Saul in us and can learn from his mistakes.  Pastor Rick starts a new CrossPoint Church series on King David.  It is important to focus on Saul before focusing on David.

God loves us and wants us to live abundantly. So why do we struggle so much with our loyalty to God.  Probably because we listen to the enemies lies rather than listening to God.  His Word convicts, strengthens, guides and heals.  Time with God in His Word needs to be a priority in our lives. 

John tells us that if we walk with God we should live like Jesus.  Jesus did 3 relationships really well.  He had a rich UP relationship with His Father, a wonderful IN relationship with his disciples and a fruitful OUT relationship with the lost.  Pastor Rick encouraged the CrossPoint flock to grow in all three relationships making the UP your primary focus.  Growing in all three relationships will surprise our world.

Paul thanks the Philippians for their gift and teaches them that our Sovereign God takes care of all our needs.  Paul teaches what God is teaching him. As Paul walked with God... he learned to trust God and that God supplies the strength to be content in any circumstance or situation.  

Paul loves the Philippian believers, but knows they struggle.  He addresses worry and what we put in our minds... what we think about.  Paul desires the church to live abundantly, to experience all the joy there is in following Jesus so he encourages the flock to pray and trust God while choosing to make healthy choices when deciding what to put in our minds.

Paul recognizes that the Philippian church is struggling.  He addresses some of their struggles... their lack of intimacy with Jesus and joy, conflicts and displaying gentleness.  Paul is convinced they don't need to struggle, but that they can thrive.  Pastor Rick spoke this message to CrossPoint Church on 220807

Paul talks about running a race towards spiritual maturity, a place where you spend time with Jesus, reflect Him well and help others do the same.
