This week I had the chance to interview John Heller of FuseFX, Visual Effects Supervisor on a host of different shows, including the utterly brilliant HBO drama 'The Outsider'.Based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel of the same name, 'The Outsider' begins by following a seemingly straightforward investigation into the gruesome murder of a young boy. In the latest edition of the Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast, I had the chance to interview Yamit Shimonovitz, cinematographer on two wildly different shows - 'Surviving R. Kelly Part II', and new Netflix series 'The Goop Lab'.In creating the 'Surviving R. Kelly' documentary, it was very important to the filmmakers that the camera crew was all-female for the comfort of the survivor interviewees. Yamit speaks to creating an environment in which they were able to adjust the lights and cameras quickly and quietly, as well as how they used different lighting and cameras to differentiate the survivor interviewees and the rest of the interviewees.At the opposite end of the scale, 'The Goop Lab' with Gwyneth Paltrow, Yamit discusses using a bright colour palette to give the show an airy feel, and how they had to always be prepared to shoot every angle to cover the entire space, giving the talent the freedom to be spontaneous and dictate the story.In addition to these two tv series, we discuss Yamit's recent docum

In the second episode of our new Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast, I had the chance to interview Paul Arnold and Andrew Barnabas, better known as composer duo Bob & Barn.Award-winning composers Bob & Barn have over forty years of professional experience as composers and have been working together for over fifteen on projects across video gaming, tv and film. After first meeting at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe in the 90's they eventually branched out on their own in 2001. Initially composing for games such as 'Neverwinter Nights', 'Forza' and 'Primal', they later moved across into tv and film, working on projects such as 'The King Is Dead', 'Green Street 3: Never Back Down', 'The Hatton Garden Job', and most recently, E4's brilliant gamer sitcom, 'Dead Pixels', which returns for Season 2 later this year.However, there is one project for which they are most renowned, the Sony video game 'MediEvil'.
