Okay, so James Comey has now been fired as the director of the FBI. It wasn't exactly like Trump's days on "The Apprentice" but by most standards, it was overdue. We'll discuss that plus, despite what current media coverage might suggest, there are some other things going on so we'll talk about some of those too. This past Saturday marked the one-hundredth day of Donald Trump's presidency. The media has made it a habit of grading the first hundred days of a president as though that is the timeframe that is "make or break" for an administration. Well, since it has become a bit of a tradition, then we might as well do it right. I'll be joined by Ron Edwards of The Edwards Notebook, Annie "the Radio Chick" Ubelis of Southern Sense, Rod Eccles of The Rod Eccles Show, and Don Smith of The Don Smith and we will be grading from a conservative perspective but with no grade curve. Freedom of speech is a bedrock foundation of personal liberty and freedom for the peoples of the world. The whole of Western civilization has embraced the need to protect and even encourage free speech in order to protect the masses from tyranny. Where there is free speech there is freedom; where there is no free speech there is no freedom. In the parts of the world that restrict speech personal liberties reduced or completely denied. Today I'll take a look at some of the most recent attacks on free speech of the past few weeks (many we have already touched on but we need to look at further) and discuss why we must all stand against these attacks. Classic Liberals have always stood for free speech, so it is clear that the "so-called progressives" behind this effort to crush the fundamental human right can no longer claim to be Liberals. Fake news means different things to different people. Ask a congressional Democrat and they will explain to you how the sensational "Click bait" headlines on social media like "Arrest Warrant Issued for Hillary Clinton" are a threat to democracy. Ask a Trump supporter and they will say CNN. Ask a "progressive political operative" and any story they don't like fits their definition of Fake News. In truth, we are bombarded daily with a wide range of news stories that are partial truths spun to protect their viewpoint or to attack "the other side" and outright totally false stories designed to misinform or indoctrinate. It would seem that Islam scored several wins this week against Western civilization. Stories from Australia, United States, and in the U.K. where Tim Burton now faces up to two years in prison for one count of racial or religious harassment directed toward Fiyaz Mughal, a top person at Tell MAMA (Measuring Anti Muslim Attacks). California's Chief Justice has made a statement about the Trump administration's crackdown on immigration enforcement that has many folks scratching their heads. Massachusetts state Rep. Michelle DuBois posted a warning to illegal immigrants on her Facebook page this past Tuesday about upcoming Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids, did she break the law? David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, pro-life activists who filmed Planned Parenthood and employees of other abortion groups offering to sell organs from aborted babies in a series of undercover videos, have been indicted on 15 felony counts by the state of California. All this and more as time allows. But … well, let's just say that things didn't work out the way Paul Ryan planned. The media is reporting this as a failure for Trump, but is it? The investigation into Russian involvement with the Trump campaign continued this week with a strange development and renewed calls for an independent counsel. Neil Gorsuch's confirmation hearing continued as well. Judge Gorsuch conducted himself like a non-partisan who would make rulings based on the law, while Democrats made clear that's not what they want on the SCOTUS. All this and more as time allows. Dr. Kelli Ward made a lot of waves in Arizona and the Republican party when she decided to challenge U.S. Senator John McCain in the 2016 primaries and falling just short. She is one of the strongest voices for common sense conservative values and now she is challenging once again for the U.S. Senate, this time as a primary candidate against Jeff Flake. As a medical doctor, Dr. Ward has an idea or two about the "Repeal & Replace" debate. We talk about that and her campaign to become the junior senator from the great state of Arizona. This past Wednesday night an activist federal judge in Hawaii issued a TRO against President Trump's revised travel restriction executive order. Evidently, this TRO order wasn't decided on legal merit or the wording of the EO, but instead, it was based on then-candidate Donald Trump's campaign rhetoric. According to the AP, the Obama administration spent a record $36.2 million defending itself from Freedom of Information Act lawsuits and denied access to requested documents and information more than any previous administration. So much for the most transparent administration in history. Rachel Maddow announced that she had obtained President Trump's tax return... from 2005. Jeff Crouere will join me to discuss it and I’ll be asking “Why is John Koskinen still the Commissioner of the IRS?” Julian Assange tweeted that both Hillary Clinton and intelligence community officials are secretly plotting a Mike “Pence takeover” in the Oval Office.
