Mide-Week Mom Chat: Riding the Wave.
27/02/2020 Duración: 28minI had the extreme honor to go lecture a Belmont class on Tuesday. The class is called “Women in Entertainment.” How cool is that there there is a class talking about this?! I basically told my story. How I have had extreme highs and lows in my career. I’ve had multiple record deals, been on lots of reality TV, been a TV host, Record label promoter, song plugger, music teacher to kids and now podcaster. It’s so easy to look at someone when they seem to be crushing it and compare yourself to their journey and think you’re not enough, a loser, never going to be successful, not talented enough, etc... NEWS FLASH: everyone feels super insecure at times and like they are a fraud. The secret is you have to keep moving forward and riding the wave. You have to trust the flow. When you feel resistance, pivot. Follow the easy feelings. That’s doesn’t mean it won’t be hard work, but if you are in true pursuit of your passion it will feel so good when you are “working.” A lot of times you have to have a side hustle to sup

While feeling her worst, she and her husband’s publishing company, Rhythm House (under Jay-Z’s Entertainment Company), started thriving and bringing in multiple #1 hits. Stevie also goes into vivid detail about the time she met Beyoncé at the company Christmas party and talked to her after multiple tequilas... they basically are best friends now lol! Laura Hutfless: Named one of Billboard’s “Power players” and “Country’s most powerful” multiple years in a row, Laura is using her influence to help survivors of mass shootings find healing.
10/02/2020 Duración: 01h21minLaura has a laundry list of accomplishments. She is a top female power player in the Entertainment Industry. She launched FlyteVu (They Connect Brands To Consumers Through the Power Of Music, Pop Culture and Entertainment) in 2015 after 15+ years in the music industry brokering Artist & Brand partnerships at CAA, Ticketmaster, and WME where she grew sponsorship revenues to over $50M. But Laura is not one of those “bosses” who just orders people around . She is all about the creative experience and hiring people who think outside the box and can bring ideas to life that others would be too scared to even dream about. I love how she told me “no is just a suggestion.” She won’t stop until her vision is executed no matter how much red tape she has to get through and how daunting the task may be. Giving back is where her heart lives. She wants people to be seen, ideas to come alive, people to feel fulfilled, and brands and entertainers to combine forces with a message that impacts the world for the better.

Mid-week Mom Chat: Resolution for No Resolutions.
30/01/2020 Duración: 30minThis year I’m saying NO to making resolutions. In my mind, resolutions set you up for failure bc you havvvvvvveeeeee to keep it or reach it, or else you’ve “failed.” I’m not putting that kind of pressure on myself this year. Instead I’m choosing to have digestible goals that help move me towards my dream body, home, career, purpose, home life, lifestyle, spiritual well-being, outreach, etc. What I don’t want to do is put so much pressure on myself to “achieve,” that I miss the joy, blessings and wins that are already happening in my life. I don’t want to have anxiety. That’s a bold claim, but I’m claiming it and I’m going to do the work to live a life of PEACE and TRUST this year and throw in some JOY and FUN while you’re at it. Ohhh, and I’m claiming God’s blessing over my life this year in all that I do. I’m also claiming that for Michael and Sunny and my family and friends and I claim it for all of you too. No more agenda forcing. Handing the wheel to God this year. I can’t wait to see where He goes with o

Tayla Lynn Finger: Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter talks sex, drugs and growth.
27/01/2020 Duración: 01h23minTayla is my sister. We were in a band together, Stealing Angels, for about 7 years. We lived together, toured together, loved together, fought together, grew up together. Tayla has been such a great teacher in my life. She is the one who really showed me how to unapologetically be and love myself, because that’s what she does. She has recovered from drug addiction, abuse, trauma, divorce and so much more. We talk about it all openly here. We could feel the Holy Spirit in the room. Tayla also is the most ALIVE human I know. She feels and expresses life in every aspect of her being, she doesn’t hold back from singing, performing, speaking God’s word and being a ball of firecracker energy at all times. She’s one of a kind and I’m blessed to call her family. Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It’s crazy how stressful and emotional it can be... “can I breast feed, do I make enough milk, my baby isn’t latching, breast feeding just isn’t working for me, how do I supplement formula, am I a failure if i can’t/don’t want to breast feed,” man.... the inner struggle we go through as moms can be rough! Allison Moorer: Grammy and Oscar nominated singer for “Soft Place to Fall” talks about her musical life and family, and why it was finally time for her to write the very personal book “Blood” and companion album about the murder/suicide of her parents.
20/01/2020 Duración: 01h17minAllison Moorer has a depth to her that feels like the ocean, and you feel it immediately when you’re in her presence. She’s feels classic like Nicole Kidman meets Kate Winslet and throw in a touch of Joni Mitchell. There’s a confident quietness to her until she is engaged in conversation... then she speaks and all you want to do is listen. I met her at an eclectic dinner party hosted by a fabulous interior Photographer, Alyssa Rosenheck. I was moved by everything Allison spoke about; from how she just published a book and album called “Blood” on the murder-suicide of her parents, and how she and her sister, Grammy winner Shelby Lynne, became each other’s rock and “nightlights,” as one of the tracks on her new album sings about. She also talked about the trials and triumphs of raising a non-verbal ten year old with autism. Allison says God gives us the child we need. She is so tuned into her spiritual being. We talk about what it felt like to be nominated for an Oscar and a Grammy and playing the Oscars. This
