It’s Furry Friends Friday, brought to you by The Mason Jar Cafe, featuring Sissy from Al-Van Humane Society!   Sissy is a lovely 2-year-old dog who enjoys chew-toys, doing tricks for treats, and receiving pets from just about anyone! She has been here at Al-Van Humane Society since December of 2021 and, while she loves all of our kennel attendants and office staff, she is having a hard time living in a kennel. Sissy gets so excited when seeing people walk past her kennel that she gets “happy tail,” which has caused her minor injury. Sissy can be dog selective, so she would need to meet any current pets in the home prior to adoption. She is patiently awaiting her furever home! Apollo is an American Pitbull Terrier and Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He is just under 3 years old and has been at our shelter for about 4 months. When he came in we were told that he is skittish around new people, however, in the time he’s been with us Apollo has begun to open up. When you spend time with Apollo, he will show you how goofy and playful he can be, as well as his desire for attention and love. Apollo would really thrive in a home with an owner who is patient and willing to show him that new things are not as scary as they seem. Apollo is house broken, crate trained, and knows basic commands such as sit and shake.  When Apollo visited the veterinarian he was very friendly with the staff, and was even well-behaved while his toenails were being trimmed. He has not had a meet and greet with another animal, however, he is very curious about other dogs. This is Melody.  She came to Animal Aid with a crushed tail and two male kittens. Both of Melody’s boys are in a wonderful home and she is now looking for her own forever home. Melody has recovered from the surgery to remove most of her tail, leaving a small nub. She has been spayed and received her vaccinations. Melody has come out of her shell and is proving to be a sweet, affectionate girl. She is good with other cats and dogs, and has been around young children. Melody is quiet and a bit shy, but loves to show her belly for pets. It’s Furry Friends Friday with Stella at Berrien County Animal Control – Berrien County Government, brought to you by The Mason Jar Cafe!   Stella is a 1-2 year old terrier mix, weighing 46 pounds. Stella enjoys zooming around the play yard on sunny days, and there are certain dogs here at the shelter whom she likes to romp around with. Stella would not do well in a home with cats. Sassy is an energetic one year old who loves walks, running, and playing with children and other dogs. She is a free feeder and loves to cuddle. Sassy knows most of her seven commands and loves car rides. She enjoys swimming and playing in the pond, and then loves her bath after that. Sassy is a little shy at first but warms right up. Fig is a handsome Staffordshire Terrier Mix. First and foremost, Fig is Heartworm+. He is currently being treated thanks to Friends of Berrien County Animal Control. Bootsy, an American Terrier, will put your world on TILT! What this adorable, goofy 3-5 yr old lacks in brains, he makes up for with heart. Bootsy is guaranteed to make you smile! Miso is a young female kitten who was rescued by Animal Aid of SW Michigan. She was living with her siblings under a mobile home. Her weight corresponds with being 7 to 8 weeks old. Miso is getting along well with cats and dogs of all ages and sizes. She enjoys pets and is a curious little lady. Boo, Ghost, and Goblin, are the most adorable ‘spooky’ kittens you’ll ever see and they’re ready to find their new forever homes!  These spooky little kittens are about seven weeks old.  At first, these young kittens are timid when it comes to new surroundings.  However, once comfortable they are ready to cause mischief!  Ghost, with his long hair, enjoys curling up to watch his siblings from a distance before sneaking up on them. Meet adorable, adoptable Clucky! This 2-4 year old Shepard mix is already spayed, up to date with all her vaccines, and ready to snuggle.  Clucky is by far the most photogenic pup here at BCAC and has a natural zest for life.  This sweet girl would love to find someone who would take her out on adventures during the day and cuddle all night.  Clucky came to us as a stray so, unfortunately, we don’t know much about her past.  We do know that she would do best in a home as the only animal and she would do best with older kids only. Sally is a 12 year old spayed and declawed female cat who is VERY affectionate and chubby! Sally is a true PRINCESS!! She is a calico so she has a little bit of a “queenly cat-itude”, but she’ll rub against you and roll for your attention. Sally is not 100% on board with roommates, so younger cats and dogs are not her cup of tea. Meet Opal!  She is a stunning young black and white kitten with an absolutely beautiful face.
