Episodios

  • Fitbit employees hike, Google employees strike [episode 25]

    02/02/2017 Duración: 01h10min

Oh boy... An executive order from the White House created chaos across globe, so we talk about how it impacted tech. On the lighter side, we chat about Apple's strong earnings, and how the headphone-jackless iPhone 7 somehow played a role in Apple selling a record 78 million iPhones in three months. But man... it was a heavy week. There's no way around it. We like to make jokes and goof off on this show, but the news this week can only be approached with a somber tone. Here's the link to this week's show notes: http://www.sam-mallery.com/2017/02/fitbit-employees-hike-google-employees-strike-episode-25 Thanks for listening! :)

  • Echo's ill skills and Elon's boring tunnels [episode 24]

    26/01/2017 Duración: 01h10min

First Shannon freaks out and dives into a monologue about how television hasn't changed since 1935, then we chat about the poor retention rate of Amazon Echo skills, we do a test drive of the new (and oddly disembodied) Vine Camera app and try to figure out how it's different from the old vine, we chat about how Amazon got nominated for Best Picture for Manchester by the Sea, and we close with a discussion of Elon Musk's new tunnel boring company. Check out the show notes here - http://www.sam-mallery.com/2017/01/echos-ill-skills-and-elons-boring-tunnels-episode-24 Thanks!

  • SpaceX lands in the Pacific, Shannon swims in a pool [episode 23]

    19/01/2017 Duración: 59min

This is hand's down the world's most incredible episode of Mallercast. Seriously, if you don't listen to this one, you won't have a finger on the pulse of 2017. We talk about our little (yet super cute) audience, we talk about the 1980's, Shannon talks about a not-so-great vacation we had in the Catskills and the lovely public pool in the town we stayed in. And oh, we talk about tech news, too. SpaceX, Apple, TP-Link... all of the biggest players in tech are included. Here's a link to the show notes: http://www.sam-mallery.com/2017/01/spacex-lands-in-the-pacific-shannon-swims-in-the-catskills-episode-23

  • 10 Years of iPhone + Alexa in everything [episode 22]

    12/01/2017 Duración: 01h06min

We look back at a decade of iPhones and recall where we were when we found out about the iPhone (Shannon has no idea, of course). We chat about a little girl in Dallas Texas who "accidentally" ordered a $150 dollhouse and a 4-pound tin of sugar cookies with an Amazon Echo. And we go back to CES 2017 and talk about all of the gadgets that we didn't get to last week, such as the Zhor-Tech smart high heel shoes. It's wild. It's wacky. Join us, dear listener. You are the best! Check out the show notes here: http://www.sam-mallery.com/2017/01/10-years-of-iphone-alexa-in-everything-episode-22 THANKS!

It's CES 2017 week and there's lots of crazy gadgets to talk about, but we also chat about how Medium cut one third of its staff, and how more people should blog and own their content. This conversation gets philosophical, which is new territory for us. We also discuss how SpaceX has ended its investigation into the September 2016 explosion, and how they're launching again on January 8th. Yay! Then we dive into the CES news. Talking refrigerators. Smart hair brushes! The unveiling of the Faraday Future FF91 electric self-driving car. There's a lot to cover.
