GG Goes To The Movies #13: “Mad Max: Fury Road” Watch-Along
18/11/2019 Duración: 02h05minJoin David & Ted on another edition of their new "watch-along" series, where they tackle George Miller’s 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road, starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. For those that are new to our podcast, or haven’t listened in a while, these watch-along episodes are quite similar to DVD director commentary: After syncing the movie to the podcast episode, your hosts will deliver scene breakdowns and movie trivia as you watch the film. However, you may also listen to the episode as stand-alone audio, if you prefer. Please be sure to subscribe to our podcast, leave us a rating/review, and Like/Follow us on social media! A Fresh Start: Anticipating MCU's Phase 4
16/09/2019 Duración: 50minMarvel's Phase 4 will be the most ambitious yet. Not only is the MCU dealing with the regular film arsenal, such as origin stories and sequels, but it's also tackling original content in episodic form for Disney+. Between everything coming to theaters and Disney’s new streaming service, there are upwards of 14 titles to look forward to. Today, my wonderful wife Lindsay joins me once again, as we discuss all the Phase 4 content Kevin Feige unleashed during this year's SDCC. Obviously us fans don't have tons of MCU info yet, so most of what we talk about is pure speculation. Regardless, we hope you enjoy this episode! GG Goes To The Movies #9: Misunderstood Masterpiece - Fight Club at 20
10/09/2019 Duración: 01h02minI am Jack's oddly-timed podcast. It's been (almost) 20 years since director David Fincher transformed Chuck Palahniuk’s novel Fight Club into one of the most cult-classic status films of all time. There is much to be said about this movie, albeit not much that hasn’t been said already. And because of that, Ted and I are choosing to focusing on this topic, of Fight Club being a misunderstood masterpiece. Since its debut in 1999, Fight Club's message (or messages) has/have been misconstrued by a LOT of people, as well as bent to fit certain narratives and/or agendas. So we're here to set the record straight. Well, as straight as we can. So grab a friend, some soap, and take a walk with us down Paper St. Support this podcast

The Walkman Celebrates 40 Years
26/08/2019 Duración: 33minWe celebrate the Walkman's 40th anniversary by diving into a bit of its history. We also discuss the evolution of portable music as a whole, from the late 70s up until recently. As a warm-up to our main story, we took some time to briefly go over few things that have been in the news recently. These consisted of the Sony/Disney battle for Spider-Man, the announcement of the 4th Matrix film, and the next (and last?) Bond film titled "No Time To Die". Support this podcast

GG Goes To The Movies #8: Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
19/08/2019 Duración: 01h02minWe teased toward the end of our previous "Goes To The Movies" episode that we would be covering Tarantino's 9th film "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood". And we have delivered! Since the film has been out for several weeks now, the majority of what can be said about it has probably already been said. However, we did our best to come up with some relatively unique talking points, criticisms, etc. The main takeaway here is that we both really enjoyed this movie, and we hope you do to. If you haven't seen it yet, and have any interest in seeing it, here are a few disclaimers: 1) The episode is SPOILER HEAVY, so please proceed with caution; 2) If you enjoyed Tarantino's earlier works such as Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction, you will for sure get a kick out of OUATIH. Please let us know what you think of the podcast by leaving us a rating a review, wherever you listen to your podcasts. It helps us out tremendously when our listeners leave us reviews, because apps like Apple & Google Podcasts will place us higher in t

GG Goes To The Movies #7: Midsommar & The Art of Self-Defense
15/08/2019 Duración: 41minAaaaand we're back! Thank you so much to all of you amazing, loyal listeners for hanging on with us during our temporary hiatus. Words simply cannot express how grateful we are for your continued support, especially through trying times! For our first episode back (and very first episode recorded in the new studio!), Ted and I discuss two summer films that we really enjoyed. Midsommar, the sophomore effort by Ari Aster (Hereditary, 2018), is a psychotropic-induced fever dream (or nightmare) that explores unconventional ways of making audiences extremely uncomfortable. Ted and I discuss just that, along with some of the cinematography choices, the actors' performances, and how we're both officially scared shitless of traveling to Sweden. If you were a fan of Hereditary, you will most likely enjoy Aster's follow-up film! The Art of Self-Defense, directed by Riley Stearns, brings new meaning to the Dark/Black Comedy genre. We talked about how Jesse Eisenberg was born to play this role, of a socially awkward g
