Cosmic Treadmill Special: Young Animal "Gatherum", Episode 13
01/11/2018 Duración: 01h18minSniff, sniff... hey, this episode's got that "new season smell"! That's right, folks... in the wake of Milk Wars, Young Animal finds itself with an unnecessary (and unearned) reboot! All new number ones! Don't worry, we don't play that game... this is still "episode 13" to us. Today's discussions originally aired in segment form during the following episodes of the Weird Science DC Comics Podcast (they're all consecutive... makes ya feel pretty optimistic about the line when you omit Doom Patrol!): Episode 166 (03.11.2018) - Shade the Changing Woman #1 Episode 167 (03.18.2018) - Eternity Girl #1 Episode 168 (03.25.2018) - Cave Carson Has an Interstellar Eye #1 Episode 169 (04.01.2018) - Mother Panic: Gotham A.D. #1 -- weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com www.patreon.com/chrisandreggie www.weirdcomicshistory.blogspot.com TAGS: Young Animal, DC Comics, 2018, Shade the Changing Woman, Cave Carson Has an Interstellar Eye, Mother Panic: Gotham A.D., Eternity Girl, Marley Zarcone, Cecil Castellucci, Jon Rivera

Chris is on Infinite Earths, Episode 3: Bloodlines #1 (2016)
31/10/2018 Duración: 33minBloodlines #1... from 2016? Well if that seems like rather a random book to discuss here... you're not entirely off the mark. Without this book, however, it's quite likely that this very podcasting "channel" would never have come to be! You might consider this issue to be the gentle flapping of a butterflies wings, which ultimately led to over a hundred episodes (and counting) of the Cosmic Treadmill. Join Chris (@acecomics) as he shares the genesis of his comics-podcasting "career", with many thanks to his friends over at Weird Science DC Comics. -- weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com www.patreon.com/chrisandreggie www.facebook.com/cosmictmill -- That fateful Bloodlines post: https://www.weirdsciencedccomics.com/2016/04/explaining-bloodlines-just-for-hell-of.html Chris's first appearance on a Podcast: https://www.weirdsciencedccomics.com/2016/04/weird-science-dc-comics-podcast-ep-66.html Review of Bloodlines #1 via Chris is on Infinite Earths: https://www.chrisisoninfiniteearths.com/2016/04/bloodline

Cosmic Treadmill, Episode 113 - ICP: Halls of Illusion #1 (2002)
28/10/2018 Duración: 01h17minWhat's up, ninjas! In this episode, Juggalos-in-training Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) check out the world of the Wicked Clowns when they read Insane Clown Posse: Halls of Illusion #1, published by Chaos! Comics in 2002! After some biographies for creators Jesse McCann and Gerardo Sandoval, they provide a detailed history of Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope's often misunderstoof group. Then, they go through every page of the comic, with the usual throat-shredding panache. After a break, containing the song upon which the comic is based, the hatchet-swinging two close out their look at ICP, provide a brief history of clowns, and talk about other famous comic book clowns through history. Plus: a bunch of listener mail! It's better than catching a bottle of Faygo to the head, you don't want to miss it! Thanks to Toby Hagen for the suggestion! patreon.com/chrisandreggie weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com facebook.com/cosmictmillhistory @cosmictmill weirdcomicshistory.blogspot.com search "weirdcomicshi

Cosmic Treadmill Special: Young Animal "Gatherum", Episode 12 - Milk Wars!
25/10/2018 Duración: 02h03minWelcome to Milk Wars... hope you (and we) survive the experience! A little forewarning... your usually even-keeled hosts, Reggie (@reggiereggie) and Chris (@acecomics) did not enjoy this event... and they're going to spend the next two hours tellin' ya alllllllll about it. Join them as the Young Animal imprint undergoes an unnecessary, unearned, and nonsensical... reboot?! Well, in fairness, they were in existence for an entire year! Oh yeah... Colorful language warning. These discussions originally aired in segment form on the following episodes of the Weird Science DC Comics Podcast: Episode 161 (02.04.2018) - Justice League of America/Doom Patrol #1 Episode 162 (02.11.2018) - Mother Panic/Batman #1 Episode 163 (02.18.2018) - Shade the Changing Girl/Wonder Woman #1 Episode 164 (02.25.2018) - Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye/Swamp Thing #1 Episode 165 (03.04.2018) - Doom Patrol/Justice League of America #1 -- You can get a hold of us at weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com -- If you dig what we're doi

Reggie's Comics Stories ep. 2 - R.F. Outcault and the Yellow Kid
24/10/2018 Duración: 29minHully gee, folks! In this episode of Comics Stories, Reggie (@reggiereggie) provides a quick overview of R.F. Outcault and his seminal creation, the Yellow Kid! He'll talk about its origins as magazine filler, up to a contentious property fought over by New York City's largest newspapers–leaving the creator entirely out of it. It's a quick listen that we're trying out, so let us know what you think! patreon.com/chrisandreggie weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com facebook.com/cosmictmillhistory @cosmictmill @reggiereggie weirdcomicshistory.blogspot.com search "weirdcomicshistory" on YouTube
