Cosmic Treadmill, Episode 64 - The Death of Superman, Part 2: Funeral For a Friend
12/11/2017 Duración: 01h22minGreetings, fellow mourners. In this episode, pallbearers Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) somberly detail the second chapter in the Death of Superman saga, 1992-93's Funeral For a Friend by DC Comics! After some recap, they describe Justice League America #70, which came out the same day as Superman #75 and served as a bridge into the eight-issue Funeral For a Friend series! And when those details are done, the show wraps up with some other funnybook funerals through the years. Cosmic Treadmill, Episode 1: Booster Gold #1 (1986)
09/11/2017 Duración: 26minReading a comic book... then discussing it on the air, how hard could that be? Well, Chris (@acecomics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) found out the first couple of times they tried recording this... without anything resembling a script or shownotes! Fortunately, gentle listener... that's not the version you're going to be (hopefully) downloading today. In this, the VERY FIRST episode of the Cosmic Treadmill, the guys discuss the first appearance of DC Comics' first post-Crisis Superhero (or is he?) Booster Gold, created by Chris' very good friend Dan Jurgens (I hear they once took a picture together... just ask Chris, he'll tell ya!). It's a fun-filled half-hour of 80's excess... fashion... pop-culture... and horrible impressions of cultural icons Yakov Smirnoff and Balki Bartokomous. Also, Booster Gold's in there somewhere! Listen in and see how far we've (hopefully) come! -- Twitter Poll Results: 15% - Sandman #6 (24 Hours) 58% - Booster Gold #1 (1986) 27% - The World of Krypton (1979) From 53 vote

Cosmic Treadmill, Episode 63 - The Death of Superman, Part 1
05/11/2017 Duración: 01h45minGreetings, comics enthusiasts! To celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the landmark event, our pallbearers Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) dive deep into DC Comics' Death of Superman from 1992! After providing some context for the series by describing its contributing factors, and an exhaustive look at the many creators involved in this story, they break down every comic book leading up to Superman's demise in the landmark issue Superman vol. 2 #75, which gets their special attention. Then our grief-stricken duo get down to brass tacks and talk about the dollar values of these comics today, and discuss several other times Superman has departed this mortal coil throughout his existence. It's an action-packed adventure that ends with tragedy, a deal you won't get this side of Shakespeare! weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com facebook.com/cosmictmillhistory @cosmictmill weirdsciencedccomics.com chrisisoninfiniteearths.com weirdcomicshistory.blogspot.com BREAK: Headline News: On the Death of Sup

Cosmic Treadmill, Episode 6 - Superman: Kryptonite Nevermore! (1971)
02/11/2017 Duración: 49minIn this very special re-upload, junior geologists Reggie (@reggiereggie) and Chris (@acecomics) talk a lot about... sand! Sand Supermen in fact... when they cover the classic Denny O'Neil and Curt Swan story we now refer to as Kryptonite Nevermore! They chat about each issue... however, this comes from a time before they discovered their love of (and indisputable talent for) voice-acting... so it's on the brief side. They wrap up their discussion by looking at the times where DC saw fit to send Superman back into the sandbox, and even address some Death of Superman related fan (and Wizard Magazine) theories! It's a good time as always, so check it out! Real Comics History, Episode 4 - The Year in Comics 1995
26/10/2017 Duración: 59minThat sound you just heard was that of a bubble bursting! What goes up, must come down... even in the world of comics. Much of this "coming down" just happened to occur in the year 1995. Our time-trapped twosome deliver another heaping dollop of nostalgia when they chat about things like the O.J. Simpson murder case, Sony PlayStaton, WCW Monday Nitro... and even some comic books! Comic events discussed include X-Men: The Age of Apocalypse, The Death of Aunt May, DC vs. Marvel (or Marvel vs. DC if you prefer), Marvel's attempt to self-distribute their books... which led to our current Diamond monopoly... and the most devastating thing to happen that year, Chris walking away from comics for awhile. It's a sobering tale of a boy and his lunch money... Throughout this re-upload, Chris (@acecomics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) mention an episode of Cosmic Treadmill they were researching during this time. The episode in question is #24 (January 15, 2017) where they discuss the Spider-Man Clone Saga. It is ava

This special book was a request by good friend Deron Murphree who cites this as his first comic book, and was actually the final installment to originally be a segment on the Weird Science DC Comics Podcast! From this point on, our Treadmillers would break off and go solo... and it's during this very episode that you can listen to their "Request Rules"... which were abandoned almost immediately, so disregard them when you hear 'em! This week's classic reupload is their discussion of The New-52!, their feelings on hearing the news, what they felt worked... and what didn't! Don't worry, this isn't a total DC-chat, Marvel wasn't going to let them get away with bombarding the shops with new #1's... that's their gig!
