A federal judge on Friday rejected Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s bid to move or delay a trial over a misleading tweet about a potential buyout of the electric automaker, setting the stage for the billionaire to be thrust into a legal drama amid the turmoil of his Twitter takeover. The decision by U.S. District Judge Edward Chen came during a hearing held in San Francisco federal court to go over the final details of a trial scheduled to begin Tuesday with jury selection.

SpaceX has assembled Starship 24 and Super Heavy Booster 7 for the third time in three months, following separate tests, repairs, and modifications. The fully-stacked rocket measures around 120 meters tall, making it the largest ever assembled. Starship is far larger than the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets currently operated by SpaceX and is also intended to be fully reusable. In this episode, we will be discussing the journey of SpaceX Super Heavy B7, a steel rocket built by SpaceX. The 69-meter-tall, 9-meter-wide rocket  has undergone continuous testing, repairs, upgrades, and more testing over the past nine months. Despite facing severe damages in April and July, requiring weeks of substantial repairs, the Starship booster has not been permanently crippled and testing has been cautious but largely successful.  On January 8th, 2023, Super Heavy B7 was rolled back to the orbital launch site (OLS). According to statements made by CEO Elon Musk , the last major standalone test between Booster 7 and flight readiness is a full 33-engine static fire. Together, B7's 33 Raptor 2 engines could produce up to 7600 tons (16.7 million lbf) of thrust at sea level, making it the most powerful rocket stage in the history of spaceflight. Elon Musk's SpaceX is reportedly raising $750 million in a new funding round, valuing the company at $137 billion. A Texas-based startup is developing a ground-breaking technology that may completely alter how we construct on the moon. The Austin-based startup ICON is creating a 3D printer that melts the lunar dirt and builds structures layer by layer using a laser system. Because it would enable us to construct nearly any architecture on the moon and save NASA billions of dollars in the process, this technology could have a significant impact on space exploration. Aluminized materials and other building supplies had to be launched into space by NASA, which made construction on the moon historically very expensive. Considering that each kilogram of freight delivered to the moon costs more than $1 million, finding a technique to construct utilizing the given resources is important. #NASA #News #texas

SpaceX launched the first batch of a new generation of Starlink satellites into orbit early Wednesday (Dec. 28) and nailed a rocket landing at sea to mark a record 60th flight of the year. A Falcon 9 rocket topped with 54 upgraded Starlink internet satellites — the first generation 2 (Gen2) versions of the SpaceX fleet — lit up the predawn sky with a smooth launch at 4:34 a.m. EST (0934 GMT) from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Under our new license, we are now able to deploy satellites to new orbits that will add even more capacity to the network, Jesse Anderson, a SpaceX production and engineering manager, said during live launch commentary. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is denying allegations that it is violating Elon Musk's free speech rights by trying to enforce a 2018 securities fraud settlement.  The commission, in an appeals brief filed late Thursday, said Musk, the chief executive of Tesla, waived his First Amendment rights by agreeing to the settlement and amendments. It also rejected Musk's argument to scrap the agreement because he signed it under financial duress and didn't understand it. #elonmusk #business #news
