  • Space Telescopes, Struggles, and Stardust

    30/09/2023 Duración: 04min

Today we're going to talk about some issues and updates concerning two pivotal missions in the field of space science. First on our agenda is the European Space Agency's (ESA) Euclid space telescope, which launched in July. Its mission is to probe the enigmatic dark universe—made up of dark energy and dark matter—but it's facing some technical difficulties that we'll go over. Second, we'll discuss NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission that has returned a sample capsule from an asteroid, and the interesting things it's already revealing.

  • SpaceX Signs Deal with US GOVT for Starlink

    29/09/2023 Duración: 09min

Today we'll be discussing an essential milestone that SpaceX recently achieved, securing its first-ever contract with the U.S. Space Force for satellite communications via our very own Starshield. The contract was officially confirmed on September 1st, according to Air Force spokesperson Ann Stefanek. We'll discuss how Starshield operates over the existing Starlink satellites and serves as a secured network exclusively for governmental agencies.

  • NASA astronaut Frank Rubio returns from record-setting mission in space

    28/09/2023 Duración: 05min

Today, we're taking a closer look at the monumental achievement of NASA astronaut Frank Rubio, who recently made headlines for his record-breaking stint on the International Space Station. Touching down in Kazakhstan via the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft, Rubio's journey is awe-inspiring for a variety of reasons and it prompts many questions about human endurance in space, both physically and psychologically.

  • The Genesis of India's Chandrayaan-3 Mission

    27/09/2023 Duración: 06min

Today, we have a fascinating story to discuss that revolves around India's Chandrayaan-3 lunar rover and lander. These vehicles have achieved the monumental task of becoming the first spacecraft to successfully land on the untouched South Pole of the Moon, marking India's first-ever Moon landing. But after achieving their initial mission goals, they're currently taking a break, or in more technical terms, in "sleep mode," waiting for the next lunar sunrise. Quite the interstellar feat, if you ask me.

  • SpaceX Starship Environmental Concerns

    26/09/2023 Duración: 32min

The upcoming Integrated Flight Test aims to demonstrate the full capability of SpaceX's Starship vehicle, marking an important milestone in space exploration ambitions. This next-level spacecraft will go through a series of sophisticated maneuvers to test its full range of functions, encompassing both ascent and descent. The goal is to validate the technologies and operational procedures that SpaceX has invested years of effort into, setting the stage for future missions that could include voyages to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

  • NASA’s First Asteroid Sample Has Landed, Now Secure in Clean Room

    25/09/2023 Duración: 08min

After years of anticipation and hard work by NASA’s OSIRIS-REx (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification and Security – Regolith Explorer) team, a capsule of rocks and dust collected from asteroid Bennu finally is on Earth. It landed at 8:52 a.m. MDT (10:52 a.m. EDT) on Sunday, in a targeted area of the Department of Defense’s Utah Test and Training Range near Salt Lake City. Within an hour and a half, the capsule was transported by helicopter to a temporary clean room set up in a hangar on the training range, where it now is connected to a continuous flow of nitrogen. Getting the sample under a “nitrogen purge,” as scientists call it, was one of the OSIRIS-REx team’s most critical tasks today. Nitrogen is a gas that doesn’t interact with most other chemicals, and a continuous flow of it into the sample container inside the capsule will keep out earthly contaminants to leave the sample pure for scientific analyses.

  • STARSHIP NEWS : No Starship Launch Until 2024 - FAA and FWS Blocking Flight?

    22/09/2023 Duración: 19min

The Starship system is a fully reusable, two‑stage‑to‑orbit super heavy‑lift launch vehicle under development by SpaceX. The system is composed of a booster stage named Super Heavy and a second stage, also called "Starship"

  • SpaceX Starship Postponed to Next Year if Not Cleared

    21/09/2023 Duración: 06min

In today's episode, we focus on a somewhat unexpected twist in SpaceX's journey to the stars. The company's plans to re-launch its behemoth of a rocket, the Starship, could potentially hit some turbulence, not from technical faults, but due to environmental concerns. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is currently scrutinizing the rocket’s potential impact on endangered species in the Boca Chica region of Texas, where SpaceX's launch site is located. This regulatory obstacle could push SpaceX's ambitious timelines off course, adding layers of complexity to an already intricate situation.

  • SpaceX vs. The U.S. Government

    20/09/2023 Duración: 07min

The issue at hand is a legal tug-of-war between SpaceX, the rocket and satellite venture headed by Musk, and the U.S. Department of Justice. In this conundrum, SpaceX has taken legal action against the U.S. government, arguing that the administrative process accusing the company of employment discrimination against refugees and asylees violates constitutional law. The backdrop of this unfolding drama includes a complaint by the DOJ claiming that SpaceX had a history of not hiring non-U.S. citizens or green card holders from 2018 to 2022. SpaceX, however, counters this by stating that the administrative judges hearing such cases are not constitutionally appointed, thus denying the company its right to a jury trial. We'll be unpacking the nitty-gritty of this case, the arguments on both sides, and the previous legal precedents that could influence the outcome.

  • SpaceX and Starlink Under Government Scrutiny

    14/09/2023 Duración: 07min

Welcome to another episode of the Elon Musk Podcast, where we unpack and discuss the world of technology, space exploration, and innovation in ways that make you think. Today's episode is going to be a critical one. We're tackling some serious issues surrounding SpaceX, the company I founded. Senator Elizabeth Warren has been very vocal in her calls for an investigation into SpaceX's role in international affairs. The point of contention? A recent decision to block Ukraine from utilizing our Starlink satellite network for a military operation against Russian warships. This issue is sparking wider debates about the authority private companies should or should not have in matters of national and international security.

  • NASA states that SpaceX may hold Artemis 3 back

    29/08/2023 Duración: 07min

NASA held an in-person press conference with the astronauts set to participate in the Artemis 2 mission, which aims to launch in November 2024. The conference provided a plethora of updates on the mission's objectives, timelines, and, interestingly, the integration of SpaceX's Starship as a key component in future lunar missions. NASA's Administrator, Bill Nelson, underscored the importance of the Artemis program as a stepping stone for even more ambitious ventures, such as missions to Mars. A highlight of this strategy is NASA's partnership with SpaceX, specifically contracting the space company to provide the lunar lander that will act as the first astronaut base on the Moon. Artemis 2 itself will be a critical test flight that carries four astronauts. However, it's essential to note that they will not actually land on the Moon. The Orion spacecraft is primarily a transit vehicle designed to dock either with SpaceX's Starship lunar lander or the Gateway lunar space station. NASA'
