The Colony Drop Podcast. In the grand fashion of last season’s Reverse Thieves podcast, we invited Dave, Matt and Jeff from Colony Drop to talk about whatever was on their mind. They give us the origin story of their blog then go into a detailed discussion about Eva 2.22 (spoiler alert!). Later they discuss Carl Macek and his contributions to anime. Finally they go over the new season of anime and what they like and dislike about its offerings.

The Panel discusses the body of work from famed anime and live-action director, Mamoru Oshii. His movies include Sky Crawler, Ghost in the Shell and Avalon just to name a few. Joining us this episode we have A3K’s Editor in Chief, Fernando Ramos, The author of Stray Dog of Anime, Mamoru Oshii, Brian Ruh and science fiction author and anime blogger, Tim Maughan.

In this episode of the Anime 3000 Panel, we are looking at anime’s presence on North American television. Our panel includes Jackie Smith, who is the senior publicist for FUNimation Entertainment. Courtney Kraft is currently an associate producer at G4, but at one time put together G4/Tech TV’s Anime Unleashed late night block. Rounding up the panel we have Gia Manry who is the editor in chief at Anime Vice.

A Conversation with Helen McCarthy. We experimented with a new idea of having more of a loose conversation about various anime topics. These topics ranged from the iPad, moe, the feminist movement, Summer Wars, My Neighbor Totoro and Yona Yona Penguin.
