Princess Jellyfish is an anime for anybody who's ever felt shy, out of place, and didn't know whether they could stay true to themselves. It's a comical yet serious anime that explores the topic of what true beauty actually is, and how others tend to view people without seeing the real side of that person. In short, you should watch this. It's an excellent show that really does prove that beauty isn't always skin deep. Originally released June 13th, 2012

It has been confirmed ladies and gentlemen: The 2GAM podcast has enemies. Enemies from the deepest and most foul pits of the netherworld because no one and we mean NO ONE, should have to go through what 2GAM went through this past weekend. The boys are given free tickets by an unknown producer and what was supposed to be a fun weekend turns into one of the most hellish con experiences either man has seen. 100-degree heat combined with a convention hall whose AC didn't work half the time, terrible layout, bad dealers room, con goers who didn't know what a shower was, and stray cats fighting badgers. Occult Academy is another one of NIS America's 13 episode anime offerings that somehow manages to succeed on art and character design, but stumbles a bit on plot development and story. The creators seem to have taken a page from real world pop culture with aliens invading the world in 2012, and "the Nostrodamus prophecies." The characters tasked with stopping the world's destruction are a pretty colorful bunch, each with their own quirks and backstory. If given another 13 episodes, OA might've had more time to flesh out an already interesting story, which when the series stuck to it, proved that it could be a pretty entertaining show. It's worth a pickup if you have the funds, or genuinely love NIS America product. Originally released September 3rd, 2012

With the release of Shakugan No Shana, FUNImation now boasts one of the most complete series ever made. This is not a show with a deep overlaying plot hole upon its completion, or terrible ending. Being able to balance an action series with a love story, friendship story, and Shana and Yuji's journey about what it actually means to be human is perfectly blended within the context of the story. And most importantly....it makes sense. For those of you couldn't (or wouldn't) buy the Geneon boxset due to its hefty price tag, now is the opportune time to get in on this classic, it's really worth the investment. Masaki Endoh sings the main theme for this show, but sadly not even the Godlike singing talents of Masaki can save this show from being a poorly written, terrible mess. A show that classifies itself as a comedy should be that, but sadly Enma manages to be a 12 episode waste of time. This show is the work of famous manga artist Go Nagai who also created the original 1973 Enma. Suffice it to say....they should've left it alone. Buy it at you’re own peril.
