Sifu Mark Phillips On How To Have A Strong Mindset
12/09/2017 Duración: 48minDr. Mark Phillips began his study of Wing Chun in 1986 under Master James Sinclair. Now after twenty seven years of professional teaching, he is ranked as one of the leading instructors in the UK Wing Chun Assoc and is a registered instructor with the prestigious ‘Ving Tsun Athletic Association’ in Hong Kong as so. Now, this was a very interesting conversation. I got a chance to sit down and pick Mark's brains on what he feels makes a strong mindset for martial arts and for life. My favorite part was the idea that we all need to embrace failure and that we need to set small milestones to always look at the next step. If you've enjoyed this podcast episode, please share it as it will also help me on my journey towards helping one million people unleash their power and heal themselves. Thank you! Episode 23 - Sifu Mark Hobbs And Using Wing Chun In MMA
04/09/2017 Duración: 50minSifu Mark Hobbs discovered martial arts from a young age. He discovered Wing Chun at the age of 16, after starting with Judo and Boxing. He started teaching MMA, 'by accident'. When his students saw his grappling capabilities in a sparring match they asked to learn more about that and he had fighters asking him to train them. I personally found the conversation very interesting and I appreciated his openness and straight forward approach to martial arts. Episode 22 - Sifu Jack Ling And Using Wing Chun For Self-Defense And Therapy
02/07/2017 Duración: 39minDr. Jack Ling started his martial arts journey with ‘Natural Style’, an earlier form of internal Tai Chi. He started Wing Chun with traditional training, where he learned nothing else than the first form for several months. When he is not treating his patients he focuses on developing his and his students’ Wing Chun skills and also does standing mediation to stimulate the circulation of Chi/Qi in his body and for his health. What I enjoyed most about talking to Dr. Jack Ling is listening to his fighting experience with other high level martial artists and how he uses Wing Chun in his therapy sessions to unlock people’s potential and help them live more balanced and healthy lives. Episode 21 - Sifu Mark Stas And Being In Flow
26/06/2017 Duración: 44minSifu Mark Stas started learning martial arts from books. His parents felt that he was too young to start training, but he felt so inspired by martial arts movies and anime that he decided to study martial arts books by himself, despite not understanding the language they were written in. What followed were years of training in Shotokan Karate, Taekwondo, Bruce Lee’s Jun Fan, Muay Thai and Wing Chun. My favorite part of the interview was by far Sifu Stas' story. Most Sifus out there try to look like they are invincible and forget their also human. I enjoyed to see that Mark has a great sense of humor and is a very well balanced human being. Episode 20 - Sifu Dave Richardson And Taking The Fight To Your Opponent
20/06/2017 Duración: 33minSifu Dave Richardson started martial arts, like most of us, because he was bullied at school. He has trained in Wester Boxing, Muay Thai, but Wing Chun remains the closest to his heart. He also worked in security for several years and he says that the best is always to try to talk your way out of a difficult situation. If that fails, than you should immediately use your Wing Chun skills at their full capacity. I’ve enjoyed hearing about a few training methods that will allow your Wing Chun to come out for a self-defense situation and I feel inspired to include them in my school’s curriculum. Listen to the episode to find out what they are… You can get in touch with Sifu Dave via Facebook or his website http://www.kungfusouthside.com.au/main/ Do you want me to personally help you to take your life and Wing Chun to the next level? Episode 19 - Sifu Martin Brogaard And The Importance Of Consistency
12/06/2017 Duración: 31minSifu Martin Brogaard, represents practical Wing Chun in Denmark. When he was a kid he would very often get into fights, until his father decided to enroll him in a jiu-jitsu class. In the beginning he didn’t really see how he could use his training in an actual fight, so he decided to change a few different martial arts styles, until he found Wing Chun… I very much enjoyed his enthusiasm while telling the story of how he met his Sifu, Wan Kam Leung. The most valuable thing I got from talking with Sifu Martin was the importance of choosing the path that is most congruent with who you are and dedicating yourself 100% to that. What was the most valuable thing you got out of listening to this episode? You can get in touch with Sifu Martin and find out when his next events will be by connecting on Facebook. Episode 18 – Sifu Donald Mak And How To More Easily Learn The Chinese Martial Arts
29/05/2017 Duración: 27minSifu Donald Mak has started his Wing Chun journey in 1979, when he was 17 years old. After studying styles like Hun Gar and Choy Lee Fat, he decided that Wing Chun was more suitable for him. 38 years later, Sifu Mak shares how to more easily understand and practice Chinese Martial Arts. My favorite part of this interview was the idea that you should not limit your motion or your Wing Chun to one specific application. When using your imagination, you understand that one motion is limitless. And if you want to connect with Sifu Mak and join his seminars, you can do so through his facebook profile. Episode 17 - Sifu John Fung And The Key To Fajin Internal Power
22/05/2017 Duración: 37minSifu John Fung started Wing Chun in 1987, in Sydney, Australia. He felt that he needed a way to better cope with multiple opponents, after facing a group of gang members, that’s how he decided to change his training method. He now trains extensively in Tai Chi and Wing Chun and feels that the two arts are complementing and feeding each-other to the extent that they have become a natural part of the way he moves. I enjoyed listening to how you can develop Fajin internal power to improve your Wing Chun and overall martial arts skill. I’ve learnt that there is a connection between ego and external, muscle power. Listen to the full podcast for more… You can get in touch with John through his website, or Facebook profile. Episode 15 - Sifu Della O'Sullivan On Living For Wing Tsun And Coming Back To Your Core
08/05/2017 Duración: 34minSifu Della O'Sullivan fell in love with Wing Tsun ever since she started training the system in 2006. Despite growing up in a household of martial artists, she felt more inclined towards dancing and gymnastics. However when she found the philosophical side, how it can change you and help you grow and that the technical side was really practical she instantly wanted to learn more about Wing Tsun. Today she teaches Wing Tsun in Dulwich, South London, where she has also taught children of all ages in local schools, she has ran women’s self-defense classes, taught specialist bodyguard classes and led countless public demonstrations both in the UK and abroad. When I announced it to my students that I will be interviewing her, they sent me a bunch of great questions that they were very eager to ask her. I especially enjoyed her answer to the question ‘What keeps you going?’, which I found to be very inspirational.
