Figure of Speech: "An Atheist, A Priest and a Jungian Analyst Walk into a Bar" (FULL PLAY)
06/11/2019 Duración: 56minToday we'll be presenting a radio performance of local playwright Del McNeely's new work An Atheist, A Priest and a Jungian Analyst Walk into a Bar. To help set the scene here's a bit of an introduction from the director: The play is intended to explore the art of conversation among thoughtful people with different views, an art that seems rarely practiced today. This is not to say that I don't have strong preferences and moral values, but to recognize that the whole person as well as the whole community is made up of many facets that deserve to be considered and aired with respect. Jung's concept of knowing our "shadow" encourages us to increase awareness of possibilities, ultimately giving us greater integrity within a wider degree of consciousness. In this play the characters hear, argue, contradict, and accept each other, and they find ways to enjoy being together around music and light-hearted acts of kindness.
