We thoroughly enjoyed The Greatest Showman, a film about the life and passion of PT Barnum. It’s a musical starring Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zac Efron, and Zendaya with a soundtrack to warm even the chilliest of hearts. Seriously. One of the best soundtracks in ages. Then again what can you expect from the writing team that wrote the music for La La Land? 01/12/2017 Duración: 01h26min

This week on Fresh Hop Cinema, we cover what might just be our favorite movie of the year in Greta Gerwig’s “Ladybird.” The film follows Christine “Ladybird” McPherson as she pushes through her senior year at her Catholic high school in Sacramento, CA. Finding your way into adulthood is never an easy task and “Ladybird” explores what can happen when this already nuanced time of self-discovery in one’s life gets complicated, and often strained, by tensions at home, the fluidity of friendships, an ever-changing romantic landscape and the pressure of “what happens next.” We drink a slew of beers including:

1- “Jewel Box,” a NE IPA from Revision Brewing in Sparks, NV which exceeds our expectations. 2- “Two Hearted Ale” from Bells Brewery out of Comstock, MI. With a history of accolades (including recently having beaten Pliny the Elder in a national taste test), our hopes for this beer were high. Sadly, we weren’t sure this ale was up to par.

3- Our friend and patron of the show John Wollam drops in for a surp
