If you listen to our show regularly, you know we tend to get a BIT excited when it comes to our guy, Tom Hanks. Saving Private Ryan, the 1998 war film from Steven Spielberg, was snubbed out of the award for Best Picture at the Oscars that year. We won't make the same mistake the Academy Awards made. SPOILER ALERT: We absolutely LOVE this movie!!

This story of a father who uses positivity and humor to shield his son from the dangers of one of the most horrific times in history is a hard watch, but the message is worth every minute of it. Starring two legendary actors at the top of their games, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, this is arguably director Michael Mann's masterpiece, and possibly one of the best crime movies ever filmed. Our newest episode is a discussion on a listener request, the 1994 drama Nell.  Nell stars Jodie Foster in an Oscar nominated performance alongside the incomparable Liam Neesons. Unfortunately, this is pre Taken Liam Neeson so He doesn't kill anybody. In fact the movie is about caring and compassion, so he happens to be a really nice guy. This episode is a discussion of reviewer Aaron Cronican's choice, Mystic River.  This 2003 adaptation of Dennis Lehane's dramatic crime novel won 2 oscars and was nominated for 4 more. Directed by Clint Eastwood and starring a stellar cast including Sean Pean, Tim Robbins, and Kevin Bacon, there's no way this movie isn't amazing, right? Listen and find out!

Reviewing Bright last week put Steve in a mood to watch some more Will Smith, so he chose I Am Legend for us to review. We all remember enjoying this one when it came out in 2007, but what do we think of it now? Click play to find out.
