22/12/2023 Duración: 01h35minWith Signing Day in the review, Ohio State shifts practically all of its focus on its matchup against Missouri in the Cotton Bowl to close out the 2023 season. A deep dive into Devin Brown and his case to be Ohio State's next starting quarterback
07/12/2023 Duración: 01h24minKyle McCord's departure has once again created a situation where Ohio State is once again looking for a starting quarterback in what will be the third battle of the Ryan Day era. For two players, that battle started the moment McCord went into the transfer portal as they'll use the Cotton Bowl to start making a case to be the guy to replace him. For Devin Brown, that means going through a second-straight offseason where he's involved the battle though this time he'll do so as the oldest player in the room. At least with how things stand right now. On this Thursday episode of Buckeye Talk, Stephen Means, Nathan Baird and Andrew Gillis look at the third-year quarterback from every angle starting with his recruitment and finishing with a discussion of why this is a significant offseason for him and the program. Jordan Seaton, a flurry of transfers and how a president's proposal potentially impacts Ohio State football
06/12/2023 Duración: 01h01minOhio State has started its preparation for its matchup with Missouri in the Cotton Bowl, but the focus seems to be on everything but for those outside of the program. Whether it's the barrage of transfers leaving the program with the season essentially over, the need to still land some important piece on the recruiting trail with Signing Day approach or major subjects like NCAA preside Charlie Baker introducing proposals that could mean fundamental changes to the structure of Divison I sports. On this Wednesday episode of Buckeye Talk, Stephen Means, Nathan Baird and Andrew Gillis get into all of those things. Thanks for listening to Buckeye Talk. Learn more about your ad choices. What Kyle McCord entering the transfer portal means for Ohio State’s quarterback room
04/12/2023 Duración: 01h08minKyle McCord spent one season as Ohio State's starting quarterback and now he's decided to enter the transfer portal. The former five-star quarterback was once the first offensive player to commit to the Buckeyes with Ryan Day as their head coach spending his first two years in the program as C.J. Stroud's backup. Then he took over the starting role in 2023 leading them to an 11-1 record with the one loss being to Michigan. Overall he's 12-1 as a starting also stepping in for an injured Stroud in 2021 against Akron. McCord is only the latest transfer for OSU, but he's also its most prominent as his departure leaves even more questions for Day to answer about a program that is sitting outside of the College Football Playoff. Is the guy who will replace McCord already on the roster, an incoming freshman or will there be a need to bring in a transfer as Ohio State goes through yet another quarterback battle this offseason? On this emergency episode of Buckeye Talk, Stephen Means, Nathan Baird and Andrew Gillis di

30/11/2023 Duración: 01h58sOhio State no longer controls its own postseason destiny, but that doesn't mean it can't still make the College Football Playoff. As they did last season, the Buckeyes have positioned themselves to potentially make the postseason as a one-loss non-conference champion if a few dominoes fall in their favor this weekend. After revealing which OSU offense players earned All-Big Ten honors, Stephen Means, Nathan Baird and Andrew Gillis map out that path. A year ago it only needed one thing to happen. But this time it'll need help from various teams whether that be in the form of a few higher seeds taking care of business or a few lower causing a few upsets. Thanks for listening to Buckeye Talk. 27/11/2023 Duración: 01h52minTwo days after watching Ohio State's 30-24 loss to Michigan, Stephen Means and Nathan Baird sit down to rewatch The Game and go through everything that went wrong. And they literally go through everything as two used a Monday episode of Buckeye Talk to discuss a program that is now dealing with the reality of being on a three-game losing streak to its rival. The first segment deals with Kyle McCord and whether they think his ceiling is high enough to eventually be the quarterback Ohio State needs him to be long-term. Following the break they dive into everything Ryan Day. His playcalling, how he's handled the rivalry, his staff decisions and much more on a head coach heading into a career-defining offseason. They wrap things up with some defensive talk and some thoughts on a wide receiver room that didn't quite live up to expectations this season. T
