Listen for answers to compelling hypotheticals including: Which real life billionaire is most likely to open a wildlife park for dinosaurs? Which real life app will predict when you die? Besides HG Wells, what real life author is most likely to use a time machine to travel back to stop a serial killer? Along the way the crew also addresses several completely unrelated questions such as who was supposed to thaw out Walt Disney’s head and which seasons of Lois and Clark were the good ones? 

Jeeg, Robert Zerbe, and Michael May look back on some of their favorite movies, TV shows, and books from 2019 while also predicting what their favorites of 2020 might be. They also make some pop culture resolutions and maybe even a Nerdstradamus prediction or three.

Christian Nielsen and Kay join Michael May to talk about a phenomenon that's plagued nerds since the beginning of time (or at least, nerd time). Why do we latch on to some series or characters so hard that we feel compelled to watch or read even iterations that don't look that appealing to us? Looking at specific examples like The Addams Family, Batman, Robin Hood, and Star Wars, the panel attempts to figure this out.

Earlier this week we had our good friend Doug Frye on the podcast. Doug was one of the four guys who used to appear on the now defunct Schlock Treatment Podcast. They recorded that show in person and about four years ago I was in New York City for a work trip and had the chance to break away from that and join them for the evening. It was a great time and I wish I could have recorded the whole evening because after we did the show, all of us went to dinner together and I got to have my very own private Schlock Treatment podcast in how I was just able to listen and watch them all interact. I’ll always cherish this chance to meet these guys. And now we present it to you as a bonus episode of Nerd Lunch.

Earlier this year, I (CT) produced a video showcasing Infinity Con Tallahassee. It was a fun video and I got a chance to meet and talk with David Herringer as a part of that. Well, David has been connecting a lot of different individuals and creative outlets in the state of Florida and connected me with the folks at Cosmic Times Comics with operates out of Florida. Martin Pierro is the publisher of Cosmic Times Comics and I had the opportunity to chat with him about the history of comics, including his stint running a fanzine, and we talk about where things are heading in the industry.
