On September 27, 2014 Kaa O'Brien attended her last conference as National President of Te Roopu Wahine Maori Toko I te Ora (Maori Women's Welfare League) she talks about a few of her highlights during her three year term, and the commitment the organisation has made to appeal to a younger membership.

Sports Commentator Ken Eruera is one of Ngāti Pōrou East Coast Rugby team's biggest supporters, one of his golden moments in commentary was the 2012 match between Ngāti Pōrou East Coast and Whanganui, when the team won the Meads Cup. Born in Te Teko, Takurua works as a Counsellor at Moana House, a rehabilitation programme based in Dunedin. He works alongside adult male offenders and teaches behavioural and social issues to help them ease back into their communities. Takurua explains his work with Justine Murray.
