Jim and A.Ron discuss the premier of season 3 of USA’s Mr. Robot, “eps3.0_power-saver-mode.h”. We’re glad to see Mr. Robot return with an intriguing, plot forwarding episode that is a pleasure to watch. We really enjoyed newcomer Bobby Canavale’s turn as the sleazy fixer Irving, we’re loving the more bold hints of sci-fi wackadoo stuff to come, and the new relationships between Mr. Robot, Eliot, Angela and Darlene.

Jim and A.Ron sign off for 2016 on Mr. Robot, before turning our attention to Westworld, Halt and Catch Fire, and American Horror Story. But first we have to wrap things up with some final thoughts and a bunch of new listener theories and analysis. Hope to see you around on some of our current and future endeavors, but if not, we’ll be back next year for season three!

Jim and A.Ron have decided that USA’s Mr. Robot has done enough in “eps2.9_pyth0n-pt2.p7z”, to get us re-invested and excited for the potential of the next season. It’s not been a prefect season, and some of Esmail’s high risk, experimental approaches haven’t always gone as smoothly as we’d have liked, but at the end of the day, the fact that there is nothing else like it on television mitigates a lot of the frustration we’ve felt over the show’s pacing and plodding mysteries.

Jim’s getting impatient with Mr. Robot‘s stubborn refusal to give him answers, and found the multiplication of questions in this latest episode maddening. A.Ron is just excited to get to the robots, time travel, and bullet time fueled kung fu fighting. Who’s right? Will Mr. Robot satisfy our need to know in the final episode, or will it punt all substantial questions and resolution of plot lines until next season?

Jim and A.Ron take on episode 210 of USA’s Mr. Robot, “eps2.8_h1dden_pr0cess.axx”. Lots, and lots of Easter eggs this week, many of them still unsolved and mysterious at the time of our podcast recording… what does it mean? A.Ron’s hot on some of the crazier Tyrell theories, and Jim remains openly skeptical of any android/cyborg connection. One thing we agree on? Phillip Price is the worst.

Starting off slow, it builds to a few intriguing possibilities in the form of wheezing man at the Susan’s house, a knock on Darlene’s door, and our least favorite attractive crazy person, Joanna rolling up on Elliot. We discuss morphine pops, crazy A.I. and Tyrell theories, and try to unravel the timeline issues from the last two episodes.

A Mr. Robot episode without Mr. Robot? Can such a thing actually be allowed to happen, and if it does, will anyone enjoy the result? The answer, actually, is yes. It isn’t a perfect episode, and suffers from issues that may or may not bother you, but we loved it. We discuss karaoke, Mr. Robots influence on and by The Leftovers, what is up with Angela? no seriously, what is up with Angela?, Darlene finding her dark side, and we explode pacemaker theories.

Jim and A.Ron breakdown the latest shocking (?) reveal on Mr. Robot as we discuss episode 207, “eps2.5_h4ndshake.sme”.

Mr. Robot gets meta in episode 206, “eps2.4_m4ster-s1ave.aes”. Maybe even too meta. A.Ron and Jim debates the merits of the unconventional opening of the episode. We also discuss the wisdom of script kiddies, the competency of the FBI, and examine the operation of a kidney dialysis machine.
