This series is all about hearing the stories of our friends, students and colleagues of color, who are experiencing the impacts of systemic racism every day. Today, we'll speak to a few WCSU students about their own personal stories of how racism affects them. And we'll talk about their ideas for ways we can each work to make things better.

Just in time for Election Day 2020, Paul is joined by Kevin Gutzman, Professor of History here at WCSU, to talk about the upcoming election and specifically the Electoral College. What is it, why is it, and how should we feel about it? Also a few upcoming events and a little news about what's happening here on campus.

Somewhere along the way, disagreeing with friends, family, and others moved from being just a natural state of affairs to one that promotes anxiety, discomfort, meanness, and even fear. How do we move past all this and finds ways to respectfully and healthily disagree? Is it even possible to like someone with whom you disagree on big issues? I think it is, and we'll explore all that in this episode.

In light of the recent articles about President Trump and how much he did or didn't pay in federal income tax Paul has invited professor Gary Skiba to come on and really get into it about taxes. Hold on to your hats ladies and germs, this one is a scorcher. But seriously folks, it's really interesting.

This is the first of a sub-series we're calling SPEAK ITS NAME, where we'll be talking about issues of racial injustice that face members of our WCSU community, and begin to talk about solutions. As a start, we're talking with Danielle King, who teaches The Black Experience In America here at Western.

Runners start their races with their feet firmly planted in a starting block, and getting a good start is often the key to winning the whole race. What are the things you can do to begin the semester with a great start? Let's chat about some of them today.

Our first show back since humans have been allowed to repopulate the campus. It's a little strange but boy we're glad to be here. Be safe and have fun and we'll see you right here every week no matter what happens with lock downs and quarantines and whatever else the world can throw at us.

What's college like? What happens when the world gets disrupted and college changes drastically? We'll talk with some of our students who made it through the rough spring semester, and get some of their advice for staying on task through a fall that promises a few ups and downs!

Emergency pod to discuss the delayed campus opening for the Fall 2020 semester. Classes will begin online-only on 8/26 but resident move-in and in-person classes will be delayed for, as of now, the first two weeks of the semester.

The last in our Summer Updates series. Paul is joined by Dean Michelle Brown of the Macricostas School of Arts and Sciences to talk about what you can expect from an academic standpoint when you come back to campus.

Life as we knew it before March 2020 may not be back for quite a while. Many campuses across the country are trying to safely bring back as much college life as possible, all with an eye on our health and safety. But it will be different, and it will take each of us doing our best to protect ourselves and others by some simple acts like wearing masks and social distancing.
