Episodios

  • Issue 92: Vidalia Edition

    12/07/2012 Duración: 31min

This week, the news on Jason's radar has been pretty weak. There has been some conversation about a small handful of major topics, but just about everyone has discussed and editorialized said topics to death. The alternative? When there is no news worth talking about, why not create fake news to share? Join Jason as he rambles off several fake headlines. Maybe you'll have a laugh, maybe you'll shed a tear. Maybe you'll make up a few fake stories of your own. Who cares? Whatever you do, be sure to listen to PB & Jason by clicking through to the embedded player and download links. PB & Jason is recorded in front of a live studio audience (almost) every Wednesday. For dates and ticket information, please email jason@pixlbit.com.

  • Issue 91: Bang! Boom! Fireworks!

    05/07/2012 Duración: 39min

This week's PB & Jason has a focus on fireworks! Well, maybe not fireworks exactly, but rather the Fourth of July, the USA's Independence Day. Expect to hear of a handful of video games that really get in the July 4th spirit with fireworks and, in the case of Metal Gear Solid 2, convoluted plots! For those of you looking for a little more than holidays, don't worry! I've packed PB & Jason 91 with a lot more, mostly centered around what video games I'd like to see in the future! Spoiler Alert: I mention the Ice Climbers. A lot. There's also some hype for the Zelda: Symphony of the Goddess concert I'll be attending in less than two weeks, as well as a little bit of discussion about a not-so-retro game I'm replaying: Dragon Quest IX. Click through to find listening and download links! PB & Jason is recorded in front of a live studio audience (almost) every Wednesday. For dates and ticket information, please email jason@pixlbit.com.

  • Issue 90: Jason & Hobbes

    28/06/2012 Duración: 44min

Tonight: MAME cabinets, Zeboyd RPGs, and Pokémon. For whom is the 3DS XL the right choice? Earlier, I interviewed producers behind the Zelda: Symphony of the Goddess tour. Find out my thoughts on their interview before it hits the site! All this and more in PB & Jason #90. Click through to find listening and download links! PB & Jason is recorded in front of a live studio audience (almost) every Wednesday. For dates and ticket information, please email jason@pixlbit.com.

  • Issue 89: Where in the World is E3 2013?

    14/06/2012 Duración: 41min

The show dates for E3 2013 have not yet been announced! Neither has the location! Did Carmen Sandiego literally steal next year's show? No? Oh. Well, looking at this year's E3, perhaps that's a bad thing. More on topic, this week's PB & Jason talks about the things that went wrong with E3 2012. As the show exited, most gamers were left with at least mild disappointment at the lack of coverage and announcements. Why? Find out inside! Also featured? Kirby's 20th anniversary collection and a tiny bit of Epic Mickey 2. Click through for the show's download and listening links! PB & Jason is recorded in front of a live studio audience every Wednesday. For ticket information, please email jason@pixlbit.com.

  • Issue 88: PB & E3

    31/05/2012 Duración: 54min

That's right, this week's PB & Jason talks about E3. The big event is coming up next week. How will you prepare for all the press conferences, demos, pictures, videos, and interviews? By listening to PB & Jason, of course! Long lines are covered, tiny bit of swag, a question of parties, too. The 90's shows are discussed, as are the later shows and micro-E3s of years gone. Hear the technicalities behind receiving a media badge and attending the show in this very exciting PB & Jason! Oh, right. There's a little bit of talk about the Zelda Symphony tour (Guess who's attending?), Mario Tennis Open, and Diablo III, too, so stay tuned for that near the end! PB & Jason is filmed in front of a live studio audience. For ticket information, please email jason@pixlbit.com.

  • Issue 87: Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition '13

    16/05/2012 Duración: 41min

This issue of PB & Jason is about downloadable content. Specifically, Capcom fighting game DLC. If you're not familiar with Capcom and their recent fighting game issues, let me paint the picture: They've conditioned many of their fans to hold out on buying the first edition of a title, since an upgraded version with bug fixes, balance adjustments, and new characters is often on the horizon. More than that, they've locked content on discs behind pay-walls, then reacted with surprise when they learned gamers weren't happy buying a game and then being charged a second time for content already on the disc. In PB & Jason, I take a look at a serious alternative, suggesting a few benefits that could be had for all involved. Oh, and don't forget all the talk about Tales of Graces f and new, used, and backwards-compatible PlayStation 3s! Join me for the best PB & Jason for this week ever! Click through for the download links. Of course, those with listener mail can always contact me by sending em

  • Issue 86: Tales of Jason r

    10/05/2012 Duración: 40min

This week on PB & Jason: Tales of Graces f and Tales of Symphonia comparisons, the case of Miyamoto vs. the PlayStation Vita, disappointment with the PlayStation Suite program Sony is initiating, Capcom woes, Xbox subscriptions, and more! Join Jason in the best PB & Jason for this week ever! Click through for the download links. Of course, those with listener mail can always contact me by sending email to jason@pixlbit.com. Come back next Wednesday for Issue 87! I'm sure it'll be next week's best ever PB & Jason, too!

  • Issue 85: PB & Jason All-Stars Battle Royale!

    03/05/2012 Duración: 36min

The Sony fighter has been announced! Will it live up to its Nintendo counterpart? No one knows! That doesn't stop me from speculating. The important thing isn't whether or not it's a rip-off. What matters is that it's fun to play. Oh, right. I do talk about other things in this PB & Jason, I almost forgot. Remember Issue 84? In that issue, I talked a little bit about the fear of incentivizing game reviews on websites like Amazon.com with DLC. This week, I expand on the idea, presenting a few clearer reasons why such a thing could become harmful. I also discuss my take on the next-gen console rumors that they'll be made to prevent used games. You'll be surprised at the level of reason I can achieve when I can remain level-headed! You'll have to listen to learn the conclusion I draw, though. Click through for the download links! Of course, those with listener mail can always contact me by sending email to jason@pixlbit.com. Come back next Wednesday for Issue 86! I'm sure it'll be next week's best ever

  • Issue 84: Half-off Mutant Simpsons in the Mushroom Kingdom for Pikmin Review-bought DLC

    19/04/2012 Duración: 47min

This week's PB & Jason covers a lot of ground. It starts with the shock of a popular two-month-old game that can be found at half its original retail price. It ends with a twisted DLC idea that could become the follow-up to retailer-exclusive DLC. In the middle? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons, PlayBits, New Super Mario Bros. Mii, Pikmin 3, and Nintendo's approach to DLC with the Wii U. To hear the podcast, you'll have to click through to find the podcast's download links. Of course, those with listener mail can always contact me by sending email to jason@pixlbit.com. Come back next Wednesday for Issue 85! I'm sure it'll be next week's best ever PB & Jason, too!

  • Issue 83: A Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich is not a Podcast

    12/04/2012 Duración: 9696h39min

Good thing, too, since you can find a lot of commentary on gaming news in this week's PB & Jason. Things like the real story of Peter Molyneux's departure from Lionhead Studios. Other things, like Sonic 4: Episode 2's Wii woes. Don't forget information on why Cliff Bleszinski thinks on-disc DLC is a necessary evil! Of course, there is more than all this in PB & Jason 83, but to hear the rest, you'll have to click through to find the podcast's download links. Of course, those with listener mail can always contact me by sending email to jason@pixlbit.com. Come back next Wednesday for Issue 84! I'm sure it'll be next week's best ever PB & Jason, too!

  • Issue 82: Mr. PB & Jason

    05/04/2012 Duración: 36min

This week on PB & Jason: Lies, deceit, evil twins, a wedding, and a funeral! No, no, not really. Instead, there's talk about Kid Icarus: Uprising! Nintendo's favorite angel takes on the armies of the underworld and also multiplayer vs. matches. What do I think about Pit's revival? Well, let's just say it inspired me to speculate about what could be done to bring back two other Nintendo franchises that are basically dead in the water at this point: Game & Watch and Balloon Fight. What kind of makeover would they get? You'll have to listen to find out! Of course, those with listener mail can always contact me by sending email to jason@pixlbit.com. Come back next Wednesday for Issue 83! I'm sure it'll be next week's best ever PB & Jason, too!

  • Issue 81: Magical Quest Starring Jason Ross

    29/03/2012 Duración: 50min

Short answer? Yes! Of course, you should click through and download this week's PB & Jason podcast to find out the reasons why. Also featured in this issue is more about Tom Chick and Quartertothree.com's Journey review. Mixed in are some great Kid Icarus Uprising impressions (SPOILER ALERT: Great game), and a quick list of ideal features for a co-op, (semi) turn-based RPG. Click through to find the download, subscription, and listening links. Of course, those with listener mail can always contact me by sending email to jason@pixlbit.com. Come back next Wednesday for Issue 82! I'm sure it'll be next week's best ever PB & Jason, too!

  • Issue 80: Flow, Flower, Flowest

    22/03/2012 Duración: 53min

This week's PB & Jason sees Jason's weigh in on thatgamecompany's latest title, Journey. Also featured? Discussion about the lowest review for the game currently posted to metacritic, as well as discussion of the comments left behind on said review. Once the topic of Journey is exhausted, PB & Jason moves into epic territory with talk about the latest official announcement that Epic Mickey 2 is in development! The podcast wraps up with a couple of minutes spent on Mass Effect 3's ending (again) and Dragon Quest VIII's changes to the franchise, for better or for worse. Click through to find the download, subscription, and listening links. Of course, those with listener mail can always contact me by sending email to jason@pixlbit.com. Come back next Wednesday for Issue 81! I'm sure it'll be next week's best ever PB & Jason, too!

  • Issue 79: Mass Disappointment

    15/03/2012 Duración: 43min

Remember last week when I said I didn't care about Mass Effect 3? I was wrong. Controversy has arisen over the game's endings, and said controversy is enough to make me care about the game, at least to a meager extent. If you're inclined to not know anything about the story and/or endings for Mass Effect 3, skip over a few minutes of the podcast, but be sure to listen to the rest! Why? Because there's Dillon's Rolling Western opinions, tons of Kid Icarus: Uprising information, a Club Nintendo update, more controversy with Tekken X Street Fighter and Sonic 4 Episode 2, and more! Click through to find the download, subscription, and listening links. Of course, those with listener mail can always contact me by sending email to jason@pixlbit.com. Come back next Wednesday for Issue 80! I'm sure it'll be next week's best ever PB & Jason, too!

  • Issue 78: PB & Jason Draws Near

    08/03/2012 Duración: 54min

I haven't been interested in this week's latest gaming news, nor have I picked up any new titles between this week and last week. So what do I do? Spend the week to talk about Dragon Quest titles and RPGs in general! This week's PB & Jason is filled to the brim about details of what I enjoy in RPGs, my experience with Dragon Quest games, and hypes up a title I'm sure to play over the upcoming week: Dragon Quest VIII, which I just received today. There's a lengthy discussion about a two year-old article about older RPGs and the differences between these games and newer ones, with some criticism for the new peppered along the way in this week's best ever PB & Jason issue. Click through for PB & Jason 78 podcast download links! Of course, those with listener mail can always contact me by sending email to jason@pixlbit.com. Come back next Wednesday for Issue 79! I'm sure it'll be next week's best ever PB & Jason, too!

    01/03/2012 Duración: 48min

How many sevens does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Seven! Don't worry. That's the only seven-related joke in PB & Jason 77. In fact, seven isn't really a factor in this week's PB & Jason at all! Instead, you get forty-eight minutes of piping hot ideas about the current future of Pokémon, the 3DS vs. PlayStation Vita sales debate, and quick impressions of one of the newest 3DS eShop games, Dillon's Rolling Western. Click through for listening and download links! Of course, those with listener mail can always contact me by sending email to jason@pixlbit.com. Come back next Wednesday for Issue 78! I'm sure it'll be next week's best ever PB & Jason, too!

    16/02/2012 Duración: 01h51s

What about those games coming next week, with the original, "true" Vita launch? And how about those games available for download? Have no fear! This week's best ever PB & Jason covers all three categories, in vein of previous launch specials, like with the PlayStation Move and the Xbox Kinect.
