  • Talking Feelings with The Tagalog Project (Ep 33)

    We joined Clarice Aguilera and her @thetagalogproject for Filipino Storytime #9 to talk dad feelings, parent feelings, Filipino American parent feelings! Listen in to learn about why she started The Tagalog Project and Filipino Storytime. We read "Tough Guys Have Feelings Too" by Keith Negley in English and Tagalog (thanks Clarice!) We also sang Bahay Kubo and other children's songs in Tagalog. Afterwards, we held a discussion with the families in attendance to discuss positive parenting, emotions, culture, and more! Thanks to all of the families that attended and for the participants that braved the microphone to read some Tagalog phrases about feelings!   • Mini Ep - Filipino Storytime Reminder and a Poem

    Quick reminder to everyone that Papa Culture Pod papas Anton and John will be participating in Filipino Storytime #9 this Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the Pinole Public Library, from 3-4:30pm. Filipino Storytime is a project of The Tagalog Project that brings together families to learn Tagalog through book reading, songs, and games. We will be reading "Tough Guys Have Feelings Too" by Keith Negley. Clarice, from The Tagalog Project, will read it in Tagalog. Afterwards, we will have a short dialoge with the parents and families about fathering or parenting with emotional awareness and openness (something we discussed in Episode 30: Mean Dads).Also, a poem?! John taps into his 20 year old self with his 41 year old sensibilities and reads a poem he just wrote titled "Emotions while Fathering in Three Parts. Volume 1."
