I really enjoyed the idea of helping patients not only out of their acute pain stage but with a view of establishing long-term best health. Upon more nutritional and functional medicine education, I really fell in love with working to help patients through complicated systemic health issues. So many health issues today are chronic and auto-immune in nature, without learning of a new way to try and maintain a level of wellness, there are many people suffering from a multitude of symptoms. While having 4 children over the past 9 years has reduced my number of hours in the clinic, it also helped me to really focus on these complicated patient cases, even if the overall number of patients I can see has changed.
