Open Metalcast

Recently we got the chance to speak with Jono Bacon of Severed Fifth about their long-awaited release "Liberate". The album is the result of a successful community fundraising effort, which raised money to help the band to bring out a proper studio release of the demo album "Nightmares By Design". We spoke with Jono just before the rehearsal for the band's upcoming release party on Feb 3rd. We talked about the making of "Liberate", as well as the future of Severed Fifth and Creative Commons-licensed music. Recently we got the opportunity to speak with Adam Kluga, the sole member of the band "On Wings of Wax". Adam (who hails from Melbourne, Australia)  produced and recorded the album "The Escape", which chronicles the flight and eventual fall of the Greek Tragic Hero, Icarus. We spoke with Adam about the tern Djent, his recording set up, and why playing live music isn't all it's cracked up to be. Recently we got the chance to speak with Lindsay from the band Carthasy. Carthasy hails from Perth, Australia, and just released their new EP, Apertures on Bandcamp. A perfect description of the band is on their site: Some bands try very hard to please you. Carthasy are not one of those bands. Carthasy’s experimental hard rock doesn’tsubscribe to any formula: schizophrenic two-minute assaults hold an uncomfortable truce with atmospheric seven-minute slow-burners. You might have to make an effort, but you know the rewards will be worth it.
