Spring must be coming because there's a new superhero movie waking up the movie theaters from their long winter's nap. It's "The Batman" with Robert Pattinson in the title role along with Zoe Kravitz. It's making money hand over gloved fist. Is it any good? Bill McCuddy and Bill Bregoli saw it and they'll let you know. Then there's "Fresh," a dark look at modern dating with Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan. And we've also got "Gold" starring Zac Efron as you've never seen him before. If you're looking for a series we'll tell you about "The Dropout." It stars Amanda Seyfried as embattled Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes. Neil Rosen fills us in on "Butter," which is about a lonely obese boy. February used to be a slow time of the year in the entertainment business. Not anymore! There are big time movies and series coming at you from every which way this year. So it's a good thing we've taken it upon our weary selves to sort it all out for you. We start with "Moonfall." It stars Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson and it's about a mysterious force which knocks the moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. Bill Bregoli saw it, but is it worth venturing out to a theater to see it? We'll let you know. There's a new Woody Allen movie - Bill McCuddy and Neil Rosen saw "Rifkin's Festival" and they can't wait to fill you in on it. During the most recent blinding snowstorm on the East Coast, we stayed warm in front of our microphones and talked about your movie and TV options. The movie companies somehow knew the weather was going to suck and decided not to put any new movies in theaters anyway, so it was up to us to tell you what your entertainment choices are. Bill McCuddy starts us off with "Clean" starring Adrien Brody as a garbage man named Clean who attempts a quiet life of redemption. But, soon finds himself forced to reconcile with the violence of his past. Then we look at the new HBO series "The Gilded Age" which is the latest historical costume drama from Julian Fellowes of "Downton Abbey" fame. Is it as good as that? We'll let you know. In Boston, where Bill Bregoli is from, "wicked" can mean something that's awful, but it can also mean something that's really good. As in "wicked cool." Which leads us to "The Tragedy of Macbeth." It's from director Joel Coen and stars Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand. But is it "wicked"? We'll let you know. Neil Rosen tells us about the new season of "Ozark" on Netflix (yes, it came back) as we;; as "The Super Dave Osborne Movie." Apparently a young man in spandex saved an entire industry over the weekend. "Spider Man: No Way Home" broke box office records and forced theater owners to dust off seats that hadn't been filled in over a year. They even had to make a fresh batch of popcorn. Bill Bregoli got to see a preview and he'll tell you as much as he can about it without any spoilers - which is almost impossible by the way. We're between big holidays right now (yes, Halloween is a holiday) and Hollywood is taking a tiny break between superhero and action films to bring us some serious grown up stuff for a change. It won't last, but until then it's time to enjoy films like our first choice, "Belfast." Or how about "Finch" which stars Tom Hanks and takes place on a post-apocalyptic earth, where a robot, built to protect the life of his creator's beloved dog, learns about life, love, friendship and what it means to be human.
