    Jim Belcher - Surviving the USS Indianapolis and Healing - July 30, 1945, a torpedo from Japanese submarine I-58 sunk the USS Indianapolis. The ship sank in minutes taking a quarter of her crew with her. Among the men that survived, the attack was Jim Belcher. Just over a month later, the war was over, I-59 surrendered and Jim was reassigned to duty in Japan.
