Dads Hour

On this week's Dad's Hour we were talking about the 20 things in life that you need to teach your kids before growing up. Does your child know how to descale a kettle? Also, we asked how the Dad's got involved with #WorldBookDay, if they made any DIY costumes for the kids and also who do they impersonate when reading a book? Top Dadding tips as always.

Little bit different for Dad's Hour this week, Mick was joined by our dad regular Iain Christie and Irish comedian Patrick Monahan. Mick asked Patrick about the gigs that he does for children and for some top tips on how he manages to make kids laugh! Dad's Hour was back after a week off and Mick was joined by our regular Dadding expert Iain Christie and local comedian Chris Cairns. We asked the Dad's about bucket lists and in the wake of Beyoncé's baby reveal, how would you announce that you were going to have kids? Plus, Dad's Hour was broadcast LIVE on Facebook Live for the first time and it's safe to say Chris loved the camera!

It's safe to say we had 2 very excited Dad's for this week's Dad's Hour! Mick and Iain were joined by special guest Michael Rosen, author of children's favourite 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. He told us about the success of Bear Hunt,the new interactive experience #BearHuntLiverpool and he even read one of his poems live for us.

Do you think it's still important to sit at the table to eat with your kids? This is what we put to the Dad's this week - just how valuable is that time? Also, how much does 'lad' culture affect our children and how do we deal with it?

Dads Hour is back for another week and we wanted to know what Iain and Che would do if they found out their kids wanted to join the army and how they would help their kids pursue their dreams. There was also a couple of stories in the papers about how parents should attend extra lessons to help out with their kids homework and we asked the Dads would they be prepared to put the extra hours in?

On this week's Dad's hour we were talking about how happy your kids make you. Apparently, they only make you happy for a year and then it's all downhill from there so we wanted to see what Iain and Jake had to say on that! We also had special guest and proud Dad Romesh Ranganathan on the show to tell us about his new DVD and how he dreads the Christmas nativity too.

The Dad’s are back for another week and the agenda today was very much Christmas based! Have you had to sit through the pain of your child’s nativity yet? How proud did it actually make you feel? We also spoke about what presents you should get for Dads. Little tip – socks are definitely not on the list!

With Christmas fast approaching we had to ask the Dad's about the role that Father Christmas plays and also would you pay to see your kids nativity play? And if so, how much would you actually pay? We also had the chance to catch up with Billy McGranaghan, founder and Chief Exec of the charity 'Dads House'. He told us about the amazing work he does with single Dad's to help with their mental health problems and how he offers support when nobody else will.

Back for another week and with another special guest! TV presenter and top Dad Chris Hollins joined us on the show to talk about Super Dads! He was saying how Dad's should get more credit for how much time they spend with kids and of course Iain and Che both agreed. We also had to mention Black Friday and if they'd be picking up any Dad bargains!

To start the show, we had to ask Jake Mills about his encounter with a squirrel running through John Lewis causing absolute CHAOS! We also asked the Dad's how much is too much when it comes to posting pictures of your kids on Facebook? Do you document every part of their day or do you prefer to keep special memories to yourself? And not forgetting our very special guest, comedian Josh Widdicombe who talks to his about his upcoming tour 'What Do I Do Now?'

Dad's Hour was back for another week with a bit of a Halloween special! With Halloween fast approaching we thought it would be best to ask the Dad's what sort of outfits they'll be dressing their kids up in and what is the most ridiculous costume they have worn? We also spoke about a recent survey that said 1 in 10 boys didn't know that milk came from a cow and how boys apparently spend a lot more money on proms now than girls. We had to ask Iain and Sam how much they'd be prepared to pay out on their children when the day come!

On this week's Dad's Hour, Mick was joined by our resident Dads Iain and Che and we thought we'd put their knowledge to the test on kids TV. We quizzed the Dad's to see how much they knew about children's TV shows through the decades. Mick was also joined by special guest and out of this world Dad, Commander Chris Hadfield! He was telling us about the children's book he has wrote and what it's like being a Dad from afar.

On this week's Dad's Hour we were joined by very special guest and funny man Harry Hill! Harry joined Mick to talk about his new show 'Harry Hill's Tea Time' and we asked Harry what programmes did he watch when growing up and what he thinks is great family TV. We then asked Iain and Chris what they enjoyed watching growing up and we also put it to them that apparently Dad's enjoy parenting more than Mum's.

On this week's Dad's Hour, Mick asked the Dad's how good of a Dad do they think they are? Iain and Che both took the same quiz of 50 questions to determine how good of a Dad they are judging by the amount of 'Dad things' they do. They all got pretty good results! They were also joined by celeb Dad and fellow scouser John Bishop who told us about his upcoming tour 'Winging It' and do his kids genuinely think he's cool?

On this week's Dad's Hour the Dad's talked about the most embarrassing moments with their kids. We put it to Iain and Chris and asked them what is the most embarrassing thing they have said or done and have they accidentally landed you in trouble. They also spoke about how most adults are now addicted to their smart phones and does this affect your relationship with your child?
