    16/06/2015 Duración: 23min

In this fifth BonusCast from History Goes Bump, you will hear a bit about the phenomenon that is the podcast Lore, which is currently taking iTunes by storm, and you will also hear a clip from Diane's co-hosting adventure on The 9th Story Podcast - you know the clip where the haunted music box makes an appearance or rather doesn't, but Diane and Dan are freaked, so something happened! Also, there are some more outtakes from the show, particularly featuring Denise's non-existent giggling - uh huh - and our guest co-host Freya even makes it into the outtakes with both some tongue tied issues and a little behind the scenes peek - or listen - to the pre-show talk. • Ep. 50 - The Legend of the Devil's Footprints

    14/06/2015 Duración: 26min

We love covering urban legends and we have another one for this episode. Urban legends can be as recent as the Charlie, Charlie Game that went viral on the internet a couple of weeks ago or they can reach back into the past. The legend surrounding the Devil's Footprints dates back to 1855. The Devil's Footprints is an unexplained mystery that is one of the strangest stories we have ever heard. The only theory that has really survived the test of time is that the Devil paid a visit to Devon, England and made his way bouncing around roofs and yards and such. After hearing the details, perhaps you will come up with your own theory. Was it the Devil? Did aliens pay a visit? Could these be the tracks of a ghost? The Moment in Oddity features the disappearing island of Lomea and This Day in History features the Stars and Stripes becoming America's official flag. • Ep. 46 - Norwich State Hospital

    14/05/2015 Duración: 31min

Norwich State Hospital in Connecticut served as a home and place of treatment for the mentally ill for a hundred years. As is the case with many old insane asylums, treatment methods were arcane and in some cases torturous. Mental illness was not understood and people were mistreated years ago. Places that harbor pain and suffering seem to capture the energy for all eternity and that energy tends to lead to supernatural activity. Is it because spirits become trapped? Are evil beings attracted to the painful emotions and so they come and take up residence? Or is the bad energy trapped within the walls of the building itself? Today, we talk about the history and hauntings of the Norwich State Hospital for the Insane. The Moment in Oddity features Bog Bodies and This Day in History features the assassination of France's King Henri IV. Check out the website: http://historygoesbump.com Check out the show notes here:  http://historygoesbump.blogspot.com/2015/05/hgb-podcast-ep-46-norwich-state-hospital.html

The Old Kingdom of Egypt built monuments in Giza and the Nile Delta. The New Kingdom pharaohs of Egypt wanted to be buried closer to their dynastic roots and they had their crypts built in the hills of Luxor. This area became known as the Valley of the Kings. The Valley of the Kings would end up housing the remains of at least sixty Egyptian nobles. Pharaohs from King Tut to Ramses II have tombs here. There are more than tombs here though. There are tales of curses and hauntings in the Valley of the Kings. How does Downton Abbey figure into this?
