Tom looks at the comparisons between Jerrick McKinnon and Jordan Howard as well as fellow running backs Melvin Gordon and Alvin Kamara. The comparisons come to similar conclusion according to Tom. Gordon and Howard are both the bell cow back for their respective team and will likely be more useful in non-PPR leagues while Kamara and McKinnon find more value in PPR leagues due to their pass catching potential and offensive scheme. He talks about veteran QB's Russell Wilson and Tom Brady and how they have value as veterans. However, he also talks about Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson as gambles that he could be willing to take due to the high ceiling both players have. At running back you can find good value in a veteran like Dion Lewis however the risk/reward on a young player like Ronald Jones II could be worth making him your pick. Wide Receivers Corey Davis and Will Fuller could be concidered gambles but also have high ceilings. On this episode of the GSMC Fantasy Football Podcast host Tom Dougherty discusses the top ten players in the NFL according to the annual Top 100 rankings. These are rankings created off of votes by current NFL players. Tom goes through the top ten players and gives his thoughts as to the ranking as well as their fantasy outlook for this coming season. Aaron Rodgers came in at number 10 which Tom tought was a bit low for Rodgers to go, but due to his injury last year that is his rank. The best two defensive players in the league found themselves in the top 10, Von Miller and Aaron Donald will likely make the biggest fantasy impact compared to other defensive players. He highlights Todd Gurley, DeAndre Hopkins, Carson Wentz, and Travis Kelce. Gurley has not shown sustainablilty in the NFL, however with Sean McVay's offense he is due for another big year. DeAndre Hopkins is a beast no matter what, with Deshaun Watson in for a full season the sky is the limit in Houston. Carson Wentz might have some fantasy owners wary due to the knee injury, at his age should be able to bouce back and find the success he had last year. He also names a few players who should hold out due to the fact that they are severely underpaid for their ability at their respective positions.  Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack are the first two big name stars to hold out and they should be joined by Zach Martin and David Johnson. The fantasy implications will not get too serious until one of these players misses a pre season game of even a regular season game.
