It’s ramblin’ old Bobby D’s 72nd birthday tomorrow, and what else could we do but pay tribute in a way that only we can (or dare to.) There’s some reverence and some ridiculousness, of course. We’ve also got some world class Winnipeg music that’s every bit as great as that old coot, and a couple from the Canadian Bob Dylan (only better)!

Ah, the May long weekend is upon us at last. The weather’s ruining the party a bit, but hey, at least it’s not snow! We’ve got some great tunes to start the summer off right. Christina stops by The Sunset Saloon next Sunday while Ruth Moody stops in at home on Thursday night. Both ladies have wonderful latest albums and both are great to talk to. A real treat. Also, yesterday was Record Store Day and as usual I came home with a bag full of new tunes, so we had to spin some of those as well as a few new releases. Busy show!

And it’s with a guy that we’ve talked to many times before, Scott Nolan, who called us from the snowy road on the way back home after a marathon tour with Mary Gauthier. Thursday marks the premiere of his new documentary film, Chasing a Song. Besides that, we’ve got some upcoming shows and show news, and still a bit of time for some interesting new releases.
