It’s Mom’s Day, and what could be more important than spending some time with great mothers, so we’re pre-recorded today, but leaving you with some sweet sounds to share with that special lady. In the past few years, I’ve gotten to know him and enjoy his company, and I’ve had him play at my house a few times, but I’ve never been able to convince him to come on the show, until now! Shannon joins us today to talk about log-cabin living, Lost Creek recording studio, production work, and more. AD Devin Latimer gave us a call to spill the beans and get us excited for that great festival in August.

It’s a good news/bad news kind of day. First the good! One of the most electrifying live bands in Canada, Sunparlour Players return to Winnipeg this week after a bit of a wait, so we celebrate with some of their amazing songs and a chat with Andrew Penner, one half of this truly dynamic duo. The bad news this week, is that we had to say goodbye to the great Jesse Winchester. The man’s name wasn’t nearly well enough known, but his amazing legacy of songs and performances proves that he had a larger impact than many would even realize. A heartfelt tribute to this great songwriter, performer, and person is definitely in order.
