He was always interested in video game design, and when Z was 18 he was diagnosed with a rare disease that put him in the hospital for two years. Z says himself that video games saved his life, allowing him to feel successful and giving him a community filled with support. Recognizing that video games helped him, he wondered what could be done if games were specifically designed to help the people playing them. This led to what is now Serenity Forge, a company creating video games for good.
