Coaster Talk Podcast

Finally, some news to talk about! Cedar Fair has extended their passes through 2021, Indiana Beach looks to be back, and SeaWorld pulls a bit of a controversial move. Also in the shows discussion is Kentucky Kingdom - a small little park with a great coaster collection! Stories of James's and Bob's favorite park memories are then shared, and to finish of the show the guys talk about which coaster plays in the YouTube intro. 

James and Bob are joined by two contestants this week, Daniel and Timmy as they two face off in the epic game show "Name that Coaster"! James and Bob also discuss the historic and well-known park Kennywood. Along with talking about if people are involving themselves in more or less coaster content during their self isolation....

On this weeks show - Busch Gardens Williamsburg is the park we preview. Then, Coaster Craze is where we get a bit "crazy" this week. Using the random coaster generator on RCDB, we talk and poke fun at all the weird and wacky rides that we find! To conclude, we list off what we believe to be the top 5 most historically significant roller coasters still in operation.

In this somewhat wacky episode of Coaster Talk, the guys first talk about the park Knoebels in the new segment "Park Preview". They then go on to talk about the best park and rides from ever major theme park chain in the world - some speculation and some actual experience. To close of the show they speculate when they think the parks will start to reopen. 

Bob and James are pretty tired of the coronavirus, but it's time to talk about how seriously it could be affecting the theme park industries future. To get off that topic though, the Battle of Ages Championship is finally here! See what year is the greatest for coasters. 

The Corona Virus is on the lose! Theme parks are being impacted severely. Listen in as Bob and James talk how they think the theme parks will be altered because of this illness. Some good news though, is that the Battle of the Ages Round of 4 has concluded. We know have just 2 years left in the search for the best coaster year of all time! 

James is back from Texas! Listen in to his recap of a fantastic trip! In other news: Kings Dominion is getting a 4D Freespin, Palace entertainment is on the move, and Pantheon trains are now on the track! Of course, finishing off the show we talk about "the Battle of the Ages" as we narrow it down to just FOUR coasters!

In the discussion on this episode is South Dakota's RMC Raptor, Dollywood's 2020 investment, and Kings Dominion's future. Also covered is something we all do, instead of attempting to enjoy the park, we're too concerned with "credit hunting". In other news, Cedar Fair's yearly earnings are great and Skyline Park is no longer going operate “Sky Dragster”. The guys discuss this as well. The guys talk about Kennywood's GM leaving unexpectedly, Six Flags being sued,  their upcoming theme park trips, and give a full in depth analysis of the results from the Battle of Ages round of 64!

The show this week is centered around two things: East Coaster 2020 and the new tournament the guys are doing, Battle of the Ages! Through this competition the goal is to find out the greatest coaster year of all time! And the best part is, the audience decides everything!

Some enthusiasts claim Giga status must only be claimed by rides that have full circuit layouts, others think differently. Listen in as James and Bob debate their points while also discussing the news of the week and giving a trip report from Busch Gardens Williamsburg!

Six Flags is having a rough time, SeaWorld looks to be continuing in it's chain-wide expansion, and Jersey Devil looks to be taking a late start...listen is as the guys discuss these things and many other industry related topics. Most importantly, their feelings toward trimbrakes!

James and Bob have found the dream job, a Theme Park Tester. Who wouldn't want $3000 dollars and all their travel costs covered? The guys also discuss “Gangster Granny: The Ride”, the widow of an amusement park ride, and countdown their top FAVORITE night rides! 

Bob and James talk the news of the industry, while also discussing whether or not they found 2019 to be a successful year in the parks.
