I realized the other day that I really enjoy punishing people.

This last week, my mom was rushed to the hospital with a severe case of diverticulitis and a perforated colon and had emergency surgery. I found out from my sister who heard from my mom. In the process of finally getting a hold of her, us siblings throwing ourselves together to discuss her care, her subsequent demand that i rearrange my life and abuse me into it, and the pictures of her hoarding house sent to me by her neighbor - something got ripped open in me. We don't have to tolerate anything. Ever. But we do. So what else is possible? What's the work of allowance? How do you know when you are tolerating?
