Editor's Note #41
21/04/2020 Duración: 01h12minOur first remote live editor's note! The audio quality is better than we feared it would be, but it's still not up to Trevor-approved-quality! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:13:00 Christopher's doing pretty well, but Adam's spiraling into chaos. If nothing else, this means that the more things change, the more they stay - in some small ways - the same. Next month is May, which means it's Adam's birth-month! Celebrate! Here's the schedule for the month of partying: Tuesday, May 5th: Episode #143 - Writers' Room: Unity and Omnitron (X or U) Tuesday, May 12th: Episode #144 - Writers' Room: post-Bloodsworn Sky-Scraper Tuesday, May 19th: Editor’s Note #42 Tuesday, May 26th: Episode #145 - Writers’ Room: Leviathan Here's a calendar! We talked about a bunch of things this Editor's Note, including but not limited to: OblivAeon, of course Meta-Meta-Meta-Meta-Meta-Meta... The Sentinels of Freedom video game, now on Steam! Go check it out! Absolute Zero Degenerate Schema Romance. Around the 41 minute mark, Amelia Ryans in

Episode #141 - Writers' Room: RevoCorp Presents #23
14/04/2020 Duración: 01h31minA story of a new standard! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:31:46 Adam and I are both rather stir crazy already, but we're excited to be talking about Sentinel Comics! A lot going on here. We banter a bit, but then dig into justifying Benchmark's backstory against issue numbers. We solve everything, and there are no more problems. Everything is fine. Oh, and also do a bit of thinking on morality/human nature. Finally, we get into crafting and telling the story of the issue just after 14 minutes in. We get to your questions at just before the 40 minute mark. We answer a lot of questions, not just about Benchmark, but also about Chrono-Ranger! And, finally, we talk about the cover around 1 hour and 26 minutes in. Thanks for listening! If you're on the Patreon, join us on Friday at 11 AM, Central time for the first live Editor's Note done entirely over the internet!

Episode #140 - Writers' Room: Mystery Comics, Vol. 2, Issue #476
07/04/2020 Duración: 01h29minApril will make a fool out of all of us! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:30:04 This episode is the first one we've ever recorded remotely! If you can tell right away, apologies for the drop in audio quality. We'd much rather record in person, but the health and safety of Adam's family and Christopher's cat are too important to sacrifice. If you can't detect a notable drop in quality, that's because Trevor is an AV wizard! As a result of not recording using our usual setup, we aren't able to pause recording really, so these episodes are much more "uncut". Trevor still edits them quite a bit, but we attempt to push through and do as much "live" as possible. Does that make for a better listening experience? Heck, we don't know - we've never done this before! We talk a bit about social distancing and other current events for a bit, get to work around 8 minutes in, get to your questions a little bit after the 45 minute mark, and then talk about the cover for a few minutes starting just before the 1 hour and 19 minute mar

Episode #139 - Creative Process: Absolute Zero Villains
31/03/2020 Duración: 01h33minSome frigid foes! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:33:59 Minimal goofs, mostly due to existential dread. Tough times, these. Here's the image we discussed early on in the overview segment: Did you make this? If you're the one who made this, let us know! Good job. We'd love to give you credit for your good work. We hope you're all getting plenty of social distancing! Join us next month for more shelter in place and talk about Sentinel Comics!

24/03/2020 Duración: 01h37minWe did this one LIVE! For everyone! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:37:15 We had a great time with this one, even in these trying times. You can watch it here! Episode #138 - Writers' Room: Dark Watch Vol. 1, Issue #121
17/03/2020 Duración: 01h12minHello, friends! Or foes?! Who can tell?!?! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:12:49 So, this episode is the hero/villain team-up episode. We didn't NOT succeed at that... but you'll have to listen to find out what happens. It's certainly an attempt at the given topic! We make up for it by talking about a bunch more comics than just one, if that's any consolation to you. This Friday, March 20th, is our LIVE Editor's Note recording! If you're on the Letters Page Patreon, please come join in at 11 AM, Central! We'll be in the Discord as well to take your questions. And, if you're a Contributor on the Patreon, the voting is up now for next month's episodes! Go vote! Voting is important!

Episode #137 - Tome of the Bizarre Vol. 3, Issue #61
10/03/2020 Duración: 58minChrono-Ranger in Feudal Japan! Show Notes: Run Time: 58:28 Under an hour?! An episode that doesn't break the hour mark?!?! It's true. We only had two questions for this episode, so the questions section is much shorter than usual. Not to fear, though - we've already been amassing questions for the next couple episodes, and there are lots. This one just happened to be a bit more on the quiet side. We get to the overview portion in which we establish the type of story, determine when it lands, and then craft and tell the tale, starting a bit before the 4 minute mark. That process takes us more than half of the episode, so we get to questions after 38 minutes in. Then, only several minutes later, we talk about the cover right after the 51 minute mark. And that's the show! Thanks everyone for listening! Don't forget, if you're on the Letters Page Patreon, you can join us for a live show on March 20th! And if you're not on the Letters Page Patreon... well, you could be!

Episode #136 - Creative Process: Naturalist Supporting Cast
03/03/2020 Duración: 01h20minWe have been wrong in the past about the Naturalist, but not today! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:20:47 We get into a LOT on this one! We just sort of hit the ground running, and keep up the pace for quite a while! For those of you who like timestamps, we get to the overview around 5 and a half minutes in, the question section just before the 35 minute mark, and finally button things up around an hour and 14 minutes in. A couple minutes after that, we can't remember how the link to our Patreon is spelled. You can find the answer here! Thanks for listening, everyone! When the next episode goes live, I'll be in international waters doing my best to avoid that COVID-19, but I'll be back the week after that for a live show! See you then!

Episode #135 - Writers' Room: Mystery Comics Vol. 2, Issue #109
25/02/2020 Duración: 01h26minParse gets murdery! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:26:31 To be fair, Parse started out very murdery, and then mellowed over time. Today, we tell one of those early stories, and we do not hold back! Slight content warning on this one for (audio discussion of) graphic violence, as well as some drugs (not really drugs used, though - just drugs being generally around). Also, she's a jerk. Just so you know. Forewarned is forearmed, and with the amount Parse uses that bow, she's gotta have great forearms, right? At around the 47 minute mark, we get into questions. You asked them - we answer them! We talk a bit about the cover just after 1 hour and 16 minutes in, though you likely have already seen the cover by now. It's in these show notes! Thanks everyone for listening! We're getting close to March, in which the recording and episode release schedule starts to get more normal. Thanks for bearing with us!

Editor's Note #39
18/02/2020 Duración: 01h30minAdam's back! I'm excited. Are you excited? You should be. Show Notes: Run Time: 1:30:22 I'd say we spend a lot of time goofing around, but let's be real: Adam and I only see each other once a week these days, so there's a LOT of goofing to be done. Gotta get it all out of our systems! Here's the upcoming schedule! Tuesday, March 3rd: Episode #136 - Creative Process: Naturalist supporting cast Tuesday, March 10th: Episode #137 - Writer's Room: Chrono-Ranger in Feudal Japan Tuesday, March 17th: Episode #138 - Writer's Room: Hero/Villain team-up Tuesday, March 24th: Editor’s Note #40 Tuesday, March 31st: Episode #139 - Creative Process: Absolute Zero’s villains And who doesn't love a photo of a calendar? That big red stripe on the calendar is when I'm out of town in March, so we're making up with a recording on the first Thursday, and then we're back on schedule in real time with March's Editor's Note. No more being a week ahead of schedule for us! We field a lot of questions on a lot of topics! Such as: Obl

Episode #134 - Writers' Room: Disparation Vol. 1, #04
11/02/2020 Duración: 01h06minA familiar team, yet one that never was! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:06:35 We do another early Disparation story! These are always fun. Just a note on Letters Page timeline: we're pretty much back on our regular schedule but the episode numbering is one behind since we interjected with last week's non-standard episode. As a result, the first episode for March will be what was going to be the last February episode. We'll still have voting and Editor's Notes as usual, and we're still a week ahead on recording time, just in case Adam has to pull away for a week for baby reasons, which is not entirely unlikely. We shall see! Catch you next time!

Not Even A Real Episode
04/02/2020 Duración: 40minWHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING Show Notes: Run Time: 40:06 This isn't a real episode! I mean, it has all of the elements you'd expect: an overview, a questions section, and even some things from the past that you might not expect! However, it's missing a major key part that makes Letters Page episodes possible. You'll just have to listen to find out. More notes? Nah, no more notes. Take a listen. It's a fun time.

Episode #133 - Writers' Room: America's Finest Legacy #236
28/01/2020 Duración: 01h19minYou didn't request an episode about the death of Legacy, but here we are! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:19:54 As per the topic, we tell a story about a villain vs a villain, but with unexpected twists! We get to the Overview just after 10 minutes in, questions at the 38 minute mark, and talk about the above cover at around 1 hour and 14 minutes. Note: the last question we answer is one of the best questions with one of the best answer, and also this is one of my favorite covers that Adam has ever done. Catch you next time!

Also, we were asked a question about what Mr. Fixer was called by each of the characters that met him in the show. Episode #132 - Writers' Room: Disparation Vol. 2, Issue #74
14/01/2020 Duración: 01h08minWe're finally back! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:08:32 We're here in the future! And we're going to talk about the past! A not-too-distant but very different past! We tell a tale out of the Inversiverse, and things get twisty! We finally start in with overviewing and storytelling around four and a half minutes in. After all that noodling, we finally get to your questions at the 47 minute mark. If you're on the Letters Page Patreon, join us this coming Friday for our anniversary live show! We didn't intend for it to be specifically an anniversary live show, but it turns out that we're doing that recording on the same date that we launched our first episode in 2017! So long ago! No one was alive then! Thanks, everyone!

31/12/2019 Duración: 20minHey, everyone! We said there was no episode this week, but hopefully you've learned that you can't trust us by now! Show Notes: Run Time: 20:25 We talk about this year, answer some questions, and perhaps more? (No, not really anything more than that.) See you next year, everyone!

Episode #131 - Writers' Room: Tome of the Bizarre Vol. 3 Issue #9
24/12/2019 Duración: 01h20minIt's Christmas Eve! Let's talk about an avenging angel with absolutely no chill whatsoever. Show Notes: Run Time: 1:20:50 We talk a bit about Christmas, and then, about 4 minutes in, we get to work! We expected this one to be tough, but it turns out that we were visited by the ghost of Sentinel Comics past, and they did the work for us! Just after the 53 minute mark, we start in on your questions. At just before an hour and 15 minutes in, we talk a bit about the cover, which is shown above. Happy Holidays, everyone! See you all next year!

Editor's Note #37
17/12/2019 Duración: 01h35minIt's the Holiday times! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:35:49 We had a pile of technical difficulties, but we still made it work! Thanks to Trevor for cleaning up everything with his fancy editing. Here's the upcoming schedule: Tuesday, January 7rd: Beginning of the year: no episode Tuesday, January 14th: Episode #132 - Writers' Room: Disparation: Inversiverse Tuesday, January 21th: Editor’s Note #38 Tuesday, January 28th: Episode #133 - Writers' Room: Villain vs Villain We also had a pile of questions! On a pile of topics! Including: OblivAeon Jacket vs Coat The Sentinel Comics RPG Monsters and Magic Alternate Realities Unanswered Questions Ex-Bloodsworn Gladiators The Freedom Five and more! Catch you next time! EDIT: As mentioned in the show, Adam asks his SCRPG players three questions at the start of a campaign: What is your secret reason for becoming a hero? What do you stand to lose because of your double life? What would you kill for?

Episode #130 - Writers' Room: Cosmic Tales Vol. 2 Issues #180 & 181
10/12/2019 Duración: 01h17minWe accidentally got over ambitious with this one! Behold: Two covers! Show Notes: Run Time: 1:17:59 We just got back from PAX Unplugged, but we recorded this right before we left! We goofed around for a few minutes, but after only about 4 minutes of goofs, we got right to business! We craft enough framing for a story that we end up doing both parts 1 and 2 in one episode! So speedy! Around the 50 minute mark, we get into your questions. At about an hour and 10 minutes in, we talk a bit about the covers, both of which can be seen above! This episode is released on Tuesday, December 10th. This Friday, December 13th, we'll be recording a live Editor's Note at 11 AM Central time! So, if you're on The Letters Page Patreon, you can watch and potentially even join in! We hope to see you there!
