In this 2 Minute Tip, we'll look at the importance of having a separate bank account for your speaking or performing business. Even if you're just starting out—it's good to start out right. There are some easy, online options for setting up a bank account, too. Check out Simple Bank it's a great, and simple way to organize your business. You can also check with your current bank about opening another checking on savings accounts.   Be careful, though. If you want to open a business account—you'll have to have the official documents, licenses, and more.  This can be a crazy road to go down.   Ready to hit the stage? Get on that platform? In this tip, I'll share the importance of warming your voice up. If you have trained theatre experience, you probably know about the importance of warming up that voice with voice exercises.  Here are some of my favorite vocal warm-ups: A box of biscuits, a box of biscuit mixes, a mixed box of biscuits. A real red rooster roosts in the rain. Mr. Knox keeps his socks in a pale pink chocolate box. They’re orange socks with spots and clocks. Slippery southern snakes slide swiftly down ski slopes. To sit in solemn silence on a dull dark dock, in a pestilential prison with a life-long lock, awaiting the sensation of a short sharp shock, from a cheap and chippy chopper on a big black block.   Here's a tip to keep you sounding professional in every venue you do. Bring your own mic. A wireless microphone is three parts—a base receiver (that plugs into the sound board), the belt pack, and the mic itself. You'll want a professional mic, and one that you change the frequency on, to eliminate interference.  The best receiver and pack is by Sennheiser. The microphone itself—you have options—Countryman makes a excellent mic. Be sure to get the one that matches the input of the belt pack. You might prefer an over-the-ear mic to a lapel. You'll get less feedback and noise from the over-the-ear kind. Let me know your questions below.
