Season 2 Soundtrack Preview: The Fight with Rickert
07/04/2019 Duración: 08minWe should be back in one or two weeks, if all goes according to plan. Here's a song that will be in an early Season 2 episode. I can't really play guitar, but with modern editing tools, I can sort of make it sound like I can. The drums aren't great, either, because the style switches around quite a bit, and the drums aren't ideal for all the different styles. Still, it was an interesting experiment for me. See if you can figure out who the different sections and themes might be used for.

TFTGGW Soundtrack: The Owlbear Fight
30/03/2019 Duración: 03minThis is another looping combat track. Before I figured out how to score an entire episode, I just wrote a track that I would loop over and over again for combat. It works fine, and it's less work than scoring the whole episode. It obviously gets repetitive, and the more interesting the song is, the more annoying that gets. Also, this is probably the second track I did with upgraded horn sounds. The strings are still crummy, but I like how the horns turned out.

TFTGGW Soundtrack: The Adventures of Aethelflaed Theme
23/03/2019 Duración: 20sHere's the second of this week's character themes. This one is used to introduce "The Adventures of Aethelflaed" side episodes. It's supposed to sound bright and cheerful, and maybe even innocent. That's definitely part of Aethelflaed's character. On the other hand, she is not reluctant to gut a person. I don't know if that makes her complex or just scary.

TFTGGW Soundtrack: Aster's Theme
23/03/2019 Duración: 54sThis week we're releasing two short character themes. First is Aster Fortuna's dramatic, heroic theme, usually played when he introduces himself. The strings used in this are the low-quality strings that come with the Cakewalk Sound Center. They sound good enough that I never bothered upgrading them to the higher quality versions I now have available.
-
TFTGGW Soundtrack: Foresight Theme
16/03/2019 Duración: 02minThis is a looping song that was played whenever the players were discussing the Truths of Foresight. I originally intended it to just be something to play during any thoughtful, pensive conversation, but it kept being used for this one thing, so it became Foresight's Theme.
-
TFTGGW Soundtrack: Hunted By a Clockwork Automaton
10/03/2019 Duración: 01minThis song was in the second episode to feature Aster Fortuna, and was supposed to add suspense and tension. I think it might be too distracting.
-
TFTGGW Soundtrack: Battle Theme 1: The Grick/Bar Brawl
02/03/2019 Duración: 10minThis was the first battle theme for the podcast, used in the very first episode, albeit in a much simpler form. It's one of the first things I sloppily threw together when learning to use Cakewalk Sonar (now Cakewalk by Bandlab). It's supposed to sound like music from a video game. The drums are too repetitious, but it still works fairly well as background combat music.
