My website is changing and I have started to be more in tune with my feelings- I know I felt overwhelmed and needed to clear space. Not just space in my wardrobe but in my business. From a community artist who thought that getting her art in front of famous people would be the golden ticket to almost missing out on paying my student loan because I earned so little at the beginning of my career!! I first met Owen when he was the pastor of CFC a church in Belfast that our kids called " the fun church"! This was linked to them being allowed to play football after they learned scripture! Owen is a family man and has a great heart for helping others to communicate on a powerful level. We have been working on a collaborative project for a while now so in the interim while we are still working on our book, I thought it would be great to share one of our creative chats on the podcast for you. We discuss the loopholes creatives fall privy to in the education system, how Owen structures his writing days and why understanding your personality type can help you in business, within your household and your view of the world.

As creatives we have an opportunity to own the day to day tasks and thoughts we have. This stretches into how we act, the way our personal brand is classified and viewed by others and, in how we approach new opportunities. So, it is not new for me to share with you that I have faith and in many ways throughout my own day I rely on faith and my friendship/relationship with God to help me navigate that. Gareth is a Pastor in Orangefield Presbyterian church and Jonny works for The Alpha course. They had me on their podcast ‘ Greenways’ recently and I invited them onto mine because discussion was so good. We joked about them not being “preachy” on my creative podcast but to be honest I am thrilled that they shared their honest stories of faith in life and work as well as pieces of scripture that I know you can hold onto to enrich your soul. Enjoy this episode as much as I did recording it.

Today I share the tips that I have and some words about my own journey (and struggle) to/ with happiness. An ongoing journey where I have to stop, re evaluate and reset every once in a while. The one thing I hope that comes across in the words that I share and the people stories who I interview, is that happiness is key. We have one life, let's set up a good routine and breathe in the good stuff, be present and we can thrive.

Dave Linton is a softly spoken creative who admits himself to staying in the background of the business that he has created despite speaking keynotes at various esteemed business events and conferences. Madlug is the name of his company and I first heard about them 6 years ago when they had just started and it was during the time myself and my husband were journeying our own adoption process ( which sadly did not develop further  for us. I wrote about it on my blog). The model of their bag brand is to "help you give dignity to children in care". In other words for every purchase of a Madlug bag, a young person in care receives a bag to replace the bin liner they are given when they move between foster homes and through the care system. Dave's story is compelling. The growth of his idea from talking to his wife in their living room with only £500 to start in comparison to where they are now- a recognisable brand with the likes of IKEA purchasing bags for all of their staff, this is a great listen for any

Ian Young- footballer, kickboxer- strength and conditioning coach After I had my two boys a friend introduced me to Ian's in person  classes in 2011. They were weekly strength classes but I loved the  Saturday morning boxing best. Ian now has an online community with his  classes and a growing team of wellness coaches. His time as a young footballer taught him lessons about value and self  awareness. Furthermore, the in person classes he ran for many years- the  dedication and planning they required means Ian has a wealth of clients  and a true understanding of his ideal customer.

Clodagh interviewed me at the studio in  2020 when Covid was spreading and rumours of lockdown hit. She is the  go-to for information around businesses and a familiar face and voice on  the evening news in Northern Ireland. We discuss personality types,  Clodagh’s experience of shadowing to help her understand and gain  experience in journalism and how social media can be both a beauty and a  beast.

 Suzie Lee on cooking made easy , the impact of grief on our views of success, personality tests and accountancy!  Another example of how the path to creativity is rarely one straight line, Suzie is someone I  have known for a number of years. She shares how she started working in her family's Chinese restaurant at the age of ten and about when she won Best Home cook of the year in 2020. Now we are on the same wavelength with our families and our creative paths  you can tell that this conversation is full of excitement and story telling from the both of us.

Interior designer Jacqueline Hamilton- Designing and building your own house, studying after maternity leave and how she can help shape our homes using colour and light. Jacqueline Hamilton of Seaforde interiors chats about her experience of going back to study after two children, the benefits of running small group workshops and how we have all had to adapt to online consultations and a new work ethic. A great chat with plenty of laughs and a mutual appreciation for what social media can do for one's business and client base.

I had written an article for the gazette at  Christmas and it was then that I experienced Emma's professionalism and  skills as an editor.  A super chat and one where we also unite over  motherhood and "home schooling"!
