How solid is the food scene in Providence Rhode Island? In the midst of all "this" that we are all going through all over the world, a NEW restaurant opens. Brand new. And it's doing well.  Why now? These days it is easy to only see the downside. But there are bright spots in the gloom and doom. They are where we are getting our food. Our food supply is our restaurants. That's why it was so seismic when they all closed. But guess what? We have discovered takeout in a big way. Restaurants are helping us again as we are helping them. Listen. Then order takeout. So here we are at Dave's Marketplace in Wickford Rhode Island with Dave's Scratch Bakery Brownie Cheesecake and Aveyo Spoonable Avocado "Yogurt". Which will Father Jack go for? Sounds like a game of Clue or something but it all happened on the radio and you can hear it again right here.

On location at Food Dude's second home, The Waybury Inn in Vermont to preview a slopeside Elegant Mountain Dinner at the nearby Snow Bowl. And then its back to Rhode Island to sit down with Ted K at the Blue Plate to wipe away a tear for the Top of the Hub and other bygone restos. Then some learnin' with Professor Chef Branden Lewis from Johnson & Wales University - JWU - on their new degree in Sustainable Foods.

These iconic restos are closing and Ted K and Bruce are heartbroken. Plus the Big Game is here and the best part as always is the food - Bruce talks  to Tech Chef George Duran. BTB Gaspar's Linguica and Chourico at the Blue Plate Diner and Dave's Marketplace in Rhode Island.

It's not really my inn - it's Bob Newhart's! It's not really his either, it just played it on TV - it's Joe and Tracey Sutton's Waybury Inn in Middlebury VT - but I get a big "Welcome Home" every time I stay there. And it did snow the week I came back just in time for Thanksgiving. Amy and Chef Donna and I talk about the best Thanksgiving dinner and Christmastime afterwards. That's about an hour and 30 minutes in.
